Is it fair that they are persecuted as well? They grow up here and this is all that they know? Some don't even know about where they came from. When we are of elementary school age, we don't understand these issues. Should we give those individuals some leeway? After all, they are not the ones who made the decision to illegaly cross the border themselves when they were little. Their parents did it without thinking of how it might be more bad for them (living in fear of being sent back, etc.) than good to come here. (Remember, I am talking about those individuals who grew up here since they were very young and are more American than some Americans. You know, the ones who are educated and are fluent in the American culture.)

Sometimes, it seems to me like the government are creating more hatred by trying to get everyone to be politically correct. Do you think people get annoyed when they are constantly being told that they will be offended by certain comments, even if they are not actually bothered?

to charge much more for its products in the U.S. than in other countries? Instead it is currently illegal in the U.S. to bring those same lower priced pharmaceuticals back into the U.S.. Does this seem right?

Every time those Muslim SOBs protest anything even the pope who has nothing to do with the US they burn My beloved flag. Why whould it be any different than me burning a picture of there mohammad. I live and die for this country and that flag represents my nation under God. Just as there mohammad represents there alla.

Arguments that many people use to justify warrantless wiretaps and searches are "if you don't have anything to hide, then why does it bother you", and "only criminals or terrorists would oppose it". I don't know about you but I like privacy, specially without having the Govt. at any given time tap my communications or come to my house unanounced and begin searching. How hard is it to get a warrant if you have the evidence of crime or terrorism?

The gist of today's NY Times editorial was that the Republicans are trying to rig the 2008 election by requiring photo IDs at voting places. The Times logic is that poor blacks and hispanics who can't afford an automobile are too stupid and lazy to obtain a non-driver photo ID (readily available at local DMVs with a proof of citizenship) by the year 2008. It's a big imposition to expect them to do this and the Republicans are trying to deny people the right to vote by placing unfair obstacles in their paths. The Times says this will result in more votes for Republicans from wealthy white voters who can afford cars. If people take their voting seriously, why can't they make the effort to obtain a non-driver photo ID? What's the big deal? I sure as hell don't want a bunch of "dead democrats" voting in the next election. This ID system seems to make the voting process fair for all. If you're not a US citizen, you shouldn't be voting anyway. If I were black, I'd be insulted.

I'm wondering if there is any common ground between us and the Militant sector of Muslims, where we can learn to get along some day. I doubt there is, but i was just wondering.
