I just ended my job last Friday, having given two weeks notice and everything in the proper manner. When I went to pick up my final paycheck today, my boss told me that he was only paying me for two days, rather than the five that I physically worked, during my last week there. He said this is because I took three days of vacation back a few months ago, which in his eyes were not earned because I had only been there 6 months.
My question: Is this legal? It is a small business, with only 2 employees. The vacation period of 5 days was granted for the first year of employment. There was no stipulation as to how long you had to be employed by him to recieve the vacation pay. After my vacation of three days, I was paid, no questions asked, and he did not object to my paid vacation at the time when I asked. I do not find this fair.

My son's recruiter told him that they will provide transportation for the parents to go to his basic training graduation. Does anyone know about this and is it true?

For example, they praise the USA by saying that in the USA they have the freedom to criticise their own country. Well, so do citizens in most of the world! Comparing the USA against Chile or N Korea is not saying much.

And they also bang on about how wealthy the USA is. Most US citizens earn terrible wages by European or Australian standards. But by, say, Iranian standards the USA standard of living is good. But what kind of comparison is that?

And they bang on about Freedom. The USA has one of the worst human rights records in the world, and the highest prison population in the world. Is that Freedom? Seems a pretty twisted definition to me.

How about Democracy? Your political parties are virtually identical, and your system is structured so that it is virtually impossible, due to funding legislation, for an incumbent to be dislodged. By Cuban standards you have "democracy", but what kind of comparison is that?

So, are the Republicans on this site suffering from a mass psychosis?

"Iraq is a long way from Ohio, but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face"

I am amazed at how barbaric we are and how many people condone / justify/ or enjoy it We'd still have lynch mobs and witchburnings if some of these people are not kept in check.

This is how dictatorships behave. Fear is how they justify it.
