I must say, I liked it. It's a pretty accurate description of what you faced. I can't dispute much of it either. I'm glad you look back on it with more or less good memories. My hubby is now a Drill Sergeant and it's amazing the changes in the boys as they become men and soldiers. I hope the rest of your career is what you want it to be. Basic is tough, but doable, especially if one enters with a good attitude.

What you didn't say in your description, is something about the commradship and team work that develops in basic. I think that is important.

And, I think basic should be a third longer, extended out to 12 weeks. I know that isn't popular, but I wonder whether something tangible is lost by the shorter basic of today.

I hope you stay on active duty, or at least in the reserves. The Army needs well qualified young soldiers.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for what you are doing for our country. You guys make me extremely proud to be an American. My brother is in the Army and will be leaving for Iraq in October, I'm a little worried, but i know he will make it. Thank you again!!!

i see you fell out of a road march.thats unacceptable you slug..,you should thank whatever god you worship that you didn't go through what i did in basic or ait or regular duty station because dude you wouldn't have made it.......follow me i am the infantry
