let me got this straight iraq a third world country 6,400 miles away thats doesn't even have missles that can reach europe, that is divided by fierce ethnic tension and no sense of nationalism, and is surrounded by countries that hate it (gulf war?) and supposebly had wmds is a bigger threat than a country that actually has nukes pointed at us and actually threatened us with those nukes and is actually 2400 miles closer to us than iraq?

There are a few answers to this question:

1. They are somewhat contained... meaning even if they were to successful develop nuclear missiles, the countries around them or nearby are so upset with this concept that we don't have to do much about it. IE, Japan, S. Korea, China, ...

2. Bush handed the issue over to the UN and China to deal with.

Now with those blah blah propaganda reasons said, the real reason:
Bush knows he can't handle a conflict with them and he is not really about liberating, spreading democracy, or destroying WMDs. He is about making us fear threats he can handle in order to keep republicans in office.

A war with N.Korea would be disastrous for the republican party.

Because N. Korea has the fifth largest army in the world. That doesn't mean they're the best equiped. It means they have the most lives to spare; plus nuclear arms.

The US is smart, and scared.

Do they have oil? We should be shaking in our boots, but I think they have to blow something up first to make it a priority.
