They routinely make racist, xenophobic and ignorant comments... which is what brought us 9/11 in the first place

All totalitarian leaders have groups of followers that feed on scapegoats. To bolster support it takes an out group to sic the mob on and create the climate of fear requred to take away personal freedoms. It provides a cheap and politically useful distraction and its the juvinile followers and true believers I steer clear of.

While i do think that many conservite views on mexicans in paticular are twisted, i dp understand where they are coming from. people should not be allowed to come here just to collect welfare. they should be required to work to gain citizenship. many people are suspisios of mexicans because they have brought their culture with them, and it is a natural human reaction tho be scared of what they do mot understand. i think they just arent realizing that ever new race of people that came to america brought their culture with them. people demand that they assimlate right away, but i think most new cultures took a few generations to do that. every new culture became the "*****rs" of their day (irish, itialan...) i also feel that tougher immagration laws would only make matters worse. i thinh we should actually make it eaiser to leggaly move to america. tough immagration laws, much like the drug war, make crimanals out of otherwise law abidding citizens. however, i am in favor of establishing english as the national language and all immagrents should learn it. the country is divided enough without language dividing us. this pains me to but i think the only reason republicans are against amnesty and loosemed immagration laws is beacuse they are afraid of the fact that most of these new american voters will vote liberal, which is also way the libs are so in favor of it. it is also away for both parties to distract the masses from their lack of compitence. Also, and this really is the most importent point for people to understand, the middle east DOES NOT hate us because we are racists or infedials or whatever other crap TV says. they hate us because they, like all of man, seek power. we currently have all the power so we are naturally their target. though out history civilizations that challened the world superpower and lost have been remebered as barbians or terrorists. as long america is the superpower, we will have to fight of "barbians." and to those of who really truelly dont like being the dominate civilization, sell your car, your big house, your TY, computer, cellphone, and all the other luxieries america has alowed you and live somewhere else. america is the greatest civilzation that the world has ever seen, be proud to be a part of it.
