when Kennedy and Johnson were not blamed as badly for what went on in Viet Nam?
Think about it: 58,000 soldiers were killed...entire towns wiped out by the US military...the draft...the reported rapes...the treatment of POW's by the US military...the children who were killed...
Sure, civilians protested the soldiers, but they DIDN'T protest the president.
I'm not saying that the soldiers SHOULD be blamed (they shouldn't!) (I'm married to one!), but I'm wondering why THIS president takes the fall, when other presidents did not?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Nonlethal weapons such as high-power microwave devices should be used on American citizens in crowd-control situations before being used on the battlefield, the Air Force secretary said Tuesday.

The object is basically public relations. Domestic use would make it easier to avoid questions from others about possible safety considerations, said Secretary Michael Wynne.

"If we're not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation," said Wynne. "(Because) if I hit somebody with a nonlethal weapon and they claim that it injured them in a way that was not intended, I think that I would be vilified in the world press."

My children under 10 already know that - and we live in Canada. It scares me that so many people write and complain and call names - and yet there are people who don't know the basics of how the US government works. I hope I'm not insulting the questioner too much - but - yeegads! This is a government "by the people" after all...

hello. I was born in Mexico But I`m NOT MEXICAN. I have a CANADIAN citizenship though. What can I do to get US citizenship. I am an Artist songwriter and musican but not really internationally recognized. My dad owns a furniture store so I thoght of making an investment in the us.? Does that work? Through a lawyer or attorney how much is that investment. Please help me. i live in mexico since I was born their but not being mexican i do not always feel very at home here.

My neighbour has recently been seen with a video camera set up in his front bedroom window, pointing towards the pavement and road in front of his house. However, we live on a busy terrace street where there are a lot of passer-by's, and a lot of young children play out just across the road - which is probably being captured on camera. Is this legal? One aspect of many tax plans is to eliminate the taxes paid by corporations. There are many reasons to do this.

1) Any tax the corporation pays is passed on to the consumer anyway.

2) 90% of all lobbying is to create some tax loophole for a particular industry. Get rid of the tax, you get rid of the lobbyists.

3) It would eliminate the primary reason for corporate 'creative accounting.'

4) Corporations could get rid of an army of tax attorneys and accountants.

The only reason I've seen to keep the tax is so that the gov't has a reason to audit the companies. No tax, no oversight. But I think the SEC could still call for an audit any time they wanted one on any publicly-traded company.

So, is it better to eliminate it?

The fact is that i can see all kind of criticism because they have the worst army - but still some complain that they didn't come to get killed in Iraq with us
