Since well over 100 years (don't know the exact date, but they were already around in the 1860s) France has had its Foreign Legion where men from all nations of the world could become soldiers. This multi-cultural approach is unique and could be the model for a future EU Army. Or do we really need 16 or 25 different armies with different standards, doctrines etc?

I have a couple of questions about the laws in california regarding assault and battery charges. Here is the deal. My 28 year old brother and his girlfriend went to california from north carolina to visit some family. They got in to a fight while at the hotel, the neighbor at the hotel called the cops. My brother went to jail. He shoved her and she hurt her ankle. He is currently being bailed out, has court on thurday, and is or was planning on returning back home (north carlonia) on sunday. Is assault and battery a feloney in CA, and what do you think the judge will do. Do you think they will keep in CA? Anyone delt with this before. Personally, I hope they keep his @SS. He has been in trouble one other time for assault and battery against my grandfather in 1999. Charges were droped if I remember right. Will that charge in 1999 that took place in north carolina show up before the judge in CA?. Thanks

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." -- Hermann Goering, president of the Reichstag, Nazi Party, and Luftwaffe Commander in Chief, is attributed with making the statement at the Nuremburg trials

My neighbor’s trees are not well kept. He fails to trim them, or remove dead braches. They are very large trees. Any way, one day a branch fell and landed on “our fence”, as in we paid for it. (Since then another piece of dead tree broke our fence again.) My father, not one to look for trouble, fixed the fence, and asked him if he would please remove the dead branches from on top of the tree so they won’t fall and hurt one of his children. The neighbor said he was too busy and it was too expensive. My dad, a busy man as well, said he had the day off and would not mind doing it, free of charge. The neighbor said it was great; he would sell the dead wood as fire wood. My dad did the job, piles the small pieces of wood and goes home. The next day the neighbor starts yelling at my mom. The neighbor claims that my dad piled the wood in a messy way, and that the wood would have to be cut to a certain measurement exactly, and the wood my dad cut was in different measurements. He said my dad could either finish the job or he would sue. Can he do this?

I noticed that my neighbor drinks pepsi, Coca Cola, and other softdrinks and fruit juices. One Time I even saw the neighbor reach for a bottle of shampoo in his bathroom which is not good.

Afterwards he took out a gel and rubbed it on his hair and this is a CLEAR sign hes a terrorist.

Sometimes I see them in their backyard drinking gatoride too.

What should I do and should I report this?

He offered his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush to take part in a live, uncensored television debate with him on world issues and resolving current tensions. “I invite Mr. Bush to a live debate about the ways out of world issues to prove that in the modern world no country can control other countries by using force, weapons, and veto powers,” he said. “We would voice our opinions and they would too and then the public would judge.”

Would you be in denial? Would you go about daily life? Would you **** your drawers? Would you fight for the survival of white America? I'm saying this because more and more, day to day I see evidence of this from around the world and every other race in America. If you have ever done time in the military, or prison it is just a fact that you have to live with. Would you be ashamed of being called a racist if it meant your own survival?

Many argue that the first amendment protection of free speech is not absolute. The comment example being you can't shout fire in a theater. I strongly disagree, and feel you do have the right to shout fire in the theater, and you should be held liable for any damages your exercise of free speech causes, but you have the absolute right to exercise your right, any riots that result are a seperate matter of law. So what does freedom of speech mean to you? And does the alleged war on terror at all change your view on this essential freedom?

Who knows who cares..I just wanted to thank all of you who have answered my ? about the President so far. Pretty much all great answers, I somehow knew that the word "Luxury" would hit you all at home. For me... my luxuries are my micro-wave oven, electricity, cable TV, and a job close enough to home I can walk. Hot water is nice and my computer. Oh and my air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter..(not). Beyond these luxuries I have none. Thank my daddy for teaching me how to hunt and to start a fire without a match and my Momma for teaching me how to cure an animal and make my own soap. Luxuries are different things for all people and I see clearly that soon we will all be doing without any luxury by any definition. With the exception of those elite who rule this world. My point was...I will, and expect others to give up whatever it takes to save this country. I am so encouraged to hear from others who are just as willing. Battle on America, She is worth saving!

We need to quit racism, discrimination, violence, and learn tolerance and acceptance of each other. Im not saying we should allow people to come illegally into this country-should enter legally. But why are we so easy to name call, classify all arabs as terrorists, and other nationalities as lazy, welfare lovers, and so forth.
Im a hard working american born citizen who gets discriminated against alot for being a female, having a half arabic/half african husband, having a son from this marriage, and speaking my mind (sense women are suppose to be quite-ha). We even hate our own people in our country-so how do we have the right to judge others-last time I looked none of us had the classification of GOD!

I've checked the stats with the FBI, the CDC, the Dept. of Education and the Violence Policy Center. The South is the worst for violent crime, sexual diseases, teen pregnancy, lack of high school graduates, low ACT scores, abuse of women, unwed mothers and divorce. How in the world does this region claim to be a moral epicenter?

For example, say you are staying at a hotel and the only spot to park is in a handicap parking spot. Can a police officer that just so happens to be passing thru the parking lot, issue a ticket? (Mind you, the hotel staff itself has not called the police to rid the car of the spot.)

I was at a volleyball game and they said "please rise and face the flag for the national anthem." and I plan to get into the military and I show great respect for anyone that has served/serving for this country, and some of my friends screw around and one doesn’t even face the flag or stand up. I know they have their freedom but that just P!$$ES me off cause I see it as they are disrespecting the flag, their country, and the solders... do you think I should get mad about this or not?

When the recruiters come to the school people laugh at the navy calling them seamen and the National Guard, Air Force, and Army calling them pusses and that crap. These people are wanting to get into the Marines but the way I see it is that you still did an honorable thing and served for your country and deserve respect, how many people think this way?

We build a school in Baghdad, while our educational system suffers.

We pay to feed the children and homeless of Iraq while children in our own country suffer.

We give Social Security to damn near anyone who wants it but our seniors can't afford the medicine needed to live.

The U.S. gives foreign companies tax exemption for 7 years to operate in the U.S. while encouraging domestic companies to hire and use workers from other countries (Wal-Mart).

Many Americans are struggling to survive in their own country due to Katrina and relief still hasn't gotten to them, yet Hezbollah is handing out crisp new 100 dollar U.S. bills to people in Lebanon (where the hell did they get them?).

Does it seem our tax dollars are being abused? Or am I mistaken? Please comment. Respectful criticism only please.
