We need to quit racism, discrimination, violence, and learn tolerance and acceptance of each other. Im not saying we should allow people to come illegally into this country-should enter legally. But why are we so easy to name call, classify all arabs as terrorists, and other nationalities as lazy, welfare lovers, and so forth.
Im a hard working american born citizen who gets discriminated against alot for being a female, having a half arabic/half african husband, having a son from this marriage, and speaking my mind (sense women are suppose to be quite-ha). We even hate our own people in our country-so how do we have the right to judge others-last time I looked none of us had the classification of GOD!

We worship power and power corrupts. That is the basis of the problems with society today. If we actually lived our lives the way our religious leaders teach us we would be very different people. But we stray, we follow the wrong gods, the gods of money, power, greed. I wish we could follow the gods of love, kindness, and tolerance, but for some reason we find it easier to hate, discriminate and hurt.

I honestly don't know how to change our world but we can certainly not give up trying. Maybe, albeit very slowly, humanity will see a better way to live and we will finally learn to understand how much power we will then have.

I wish I knew why, but the important thing to keep in mind is that just because it seems that there are a great number of those like that(I don't know if there is a great number or not, but these days it seems that way), doesn't mean that we have to fall for the racism, ignorance, violence, and xenophobia(and discrimination) just to be deemed acceptable in the eyes of a few. Take pride in the fact that you're more tolerant towards others and the fact that you're not afraid to speak your mind. This country needs more people like that out there, I'm more accepting of people from different nationalities and races than most people I've known and am tolerant. I speak my mind and do NOT plan on ending that for a very long time.

The religion of peace wants to behead me and far too many of the socialist countries seem to think that's OK. It's pretty easy to judge someone who wants me dead even though they don't know I am alive. Until those people recognize my right to exist and worship (or not worship) as I please, well, we're not gonna get along.

Liberals and socialists for some reason think they have a right to confiscate my heard earned money and spend it in ways of which I do not approve. I may have a moral/social obligation to help others when I can, but that shouldn't be the government's business. It's not easy to get along with people who insist on stealing from me.

I could go on, but what's the point?

Only the very dumb ones do what you just listed!
People do not get along because each and everyone of us have different opinions on any given subject. The big problem is we do not agree to disagree!
Do not keep quiet about your feelings, but do not feel rejected , when you can not get people to say " you are right , I am wrong" not very many people are big enough to do that.
Also, You have to realize , that other people are entitled to their opinions , even if they do not agree with yours!

I don't want to quit racism and discrimination because I do not like multiculturalism. We are too different to all get along. The only people I accept as my equals that are not caucasian are the ones that completely conform to our way of life and leave who they were at the border. Then and only then will racism disappear.

It has never, ever, ever been a trait of mankind to get along. From the beginning of man, there has been conflict. The amount of fighting has actually gone down, a lot, since olden times. So I guess we are at least getting better at getting along.

America was origanilly called "The Melting Pot". We opened our doors to all faiths and nations. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." . That all changed after September 11th. The attitude any way, not the practice. We still welcome all peoples to our shores. We're just not very comfortable about it. Trust was lost...it must be earned back.

It must be because some people are lazy welfare lovers, like you so eloquently put it.
