In a democracy, if 51% of the electorate vote to abandon democracy for another ideology then democracy stops in that society.

Please let me know if there is an obvious error in my hypothesis.

Does this mean that a democratic state can be overthrown simply by high birth rates of a group that chooses to suppoort a different political system or even a religeon?

The group would have to have enough motivation, a good infrastructure and a 100+ year game plan but I see no defense provided by a democracy with a 5 year electoral period.

Maybe I am the first British citizen to ever consider the question but I doubt it. I am no genius.

...or am I not being politically correct?

It was a thought-provoking look at the aftermath of Katrina. I now despise the federal govt. for their lack of concern for its citizens.

Please Help me find the answer and where to look. Thank you.

My husband's Visa petition was approved on April 5, 2006. We were told by the Nat'l Visa Cntr to wait a few weeks for him to recieve Instruction pack # 3 in the mail in his country of El Salvador. He still hasn't recieved anything. We have called numerous times, about a week after their promised time and all we get is the same answer. "we will generate another packet and you should recieve it in the mail in x amount of days." Is there a chain of command we can go through to complain or get assistance? If all the necessary paperwork is already filed and in order, would it be worth it to hire a lawyer? I mean is there anything s/he could do to speed things up? Other than being frustrated at this broken record of an excuse from the NVC, we are wasting $7.95 per call to the NVC and no new results! Our daughter was just born and he's already missed that.(I'm in U.S.) I don't want him to miss any more of her baby firsts!

Free room and board at any college, university or trade school for 4 years ....
or public\ section 8 housing and welfare for 10 years?

You would have to maintain a passing average in school and the welfare would end after 10 years.

is welcomed by many citizens of Mexico? Recent discussions in a political forum in my state (Ariz) included a large group of illegals, who were not adverse to the USA taking out the Mexican government. Their claim of crossing illegally searching for a better life due to a corrupt government which cares less about the poor and the class system that rules being corrupt, there was 100% percent consensus that they would welcome a real government, the USA, and saw it as a saving grace to remain in their country. What are your thoughts regarding the Mexican citizen themselves wishing for an invasion by the USA?

are they now welcome in America, but those Americans who dare to oppose their invasion are not? All in order to strengthen the "binational existence with Mexico" right here in the U.S.ILLEGALS have no constitutional rights and if they're so concerned with their 'civil rights,' they should stop their illegal activities - smuggling drugs while ILLEGALLY crossing the border into the U.S. The safety of OUR border patrol agents should be the number one issue here, not coddling criminals caught in the act." the defenders of human rights that are so sympathetic for "rights" of hordes of illegal aliens that violate America are very selective when it comes to choosing whom to defend. Do you agree with this statement or disagree?

Our society and our government frowns on deadbeat dads but countries like mexico are sending their unwed women to have their children on US soil so taxpayers get stuck with the bills for the rest of their lives.at least US deadbeat dads don't trample or disrespect the US flag like illegals and their children do.Every south american country is now sending their criminals and unwed mothers to get them off their own responsibilities of dealing with the problem, and our government who always has been very generous with other people's money is encouraging this to happen.

I don't think people realize that it could be much worse. If Kerry had won, the war would be here on our soil, not over in that third world **** hole Iraq. Bush is doing the best he can given the circumstances.
