I would like to attend court hearings/ trials (i.e today's terror suspects hearing) Is there a way of finding out when and where they will happen in advance.

It will be at the old bailey (central criminal courts) Good luck getting in, i have been told many a time i am too late for the public gallery at 9.30 in the morning. The news should say when, if not try the court service website for a listing, or even search the internet. Keep an eye, its likely that there will be adjournments in this case!

You can find out court dates in advance but often the court dates change because of pleas taken, extensions. So just because a court date is set doesn't mean it will happen on that day (a neighbor of mine was a victim of a crime that was suppose to go to trial last year, and hasn't gone yet...was postponed to feburary, then june, and now November) If there is a trial or court case you are interested in attending I would call the day before to make sure that it is still going.

I know that in my local court you can attend and watch the cases (except family courts and youth courts) but if you want to know the date of a specific case you will have to ask the listing department, although, they may not tell you if you do not know the full name. Trials are quite often delayed due to prosecution/defence/court problems and you may turn up and the case has been postponed. Its always best to check before turning up.

Try the internet if you are that interested otherwise turn up at the court and see whats going on if you've got that much time on your hands.

You can call the Clerk of Court and they can tell you the dates of various cases coming up.
