When I first joined the Navy, the recruitment officers were always making fun of the Marines. Why is there bad blood between these two military groups? Is there a historical basis, or did they just decide to pick on each other one day? Or was this just at my recruitment office?

How do you ladies/gents do it? My hubby has been gone for amost 7 months and we have 2.5 more months to go.

He joined right about a year ago and seems to have been gone since boot camp.

I'm happy that it wont be long (comparitively) until he is home, but he is on a destroyer and i'm told that that type of boat goes out ALL THE TIME.

Can anyone give me advice?

Im really tired of these movies coming out about 9/11, and the tapes.

Its really ridicoulos if you want people to take this day in history seriously stop trying to make money off of peoples deaths.

I am Kurdish and we have had tragedies like 9/11 on regular basis, like Halabja, we dont dwell on those things, and people dont allow us to. Thats why we tore down that museum, because we dont want to remember a day like that, we dont want to have HALABJA ANNIVERSARIES...thats sick.

If you really want to remember a day like 9/11 you dont need to buy a shirt, watch a movie, read a book about it. Remember it on your own if it is that important.

Not of the military as a whole, or the general organization of government, but what is your opinion of the people serving in the military and why?

I ask because I am a member of the Navy, and wherever I go I get a different set of opinions, from utmost respect to raging open disgust, and I'm just curious about why different people feel the way they do.
Thanks!

It was never the intent of the Framers to give the President such unfettered control, particularly where his actions blatantly disregard the parameters clearly enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

I am asking everyone who reads this question to please, please, PLEASE do just a little bit of research on candidates before you blindly vote. You may come to find that your political party is taking advantage of you and not truly representing you. Just look at their track records and make an informed vote. Do not just vote for the party the people around you vote for. I am not saying the other candidates in an election that did not get voted in would have done any better but if the common person smartens up and possibly starts voting for people other than the two mainstream candidates, the Libs and Cons may realize that they really are nothing without your support and they might start actually DOING something for you in office. You never know until you try.

People who hold a public office swear to uphold the laws of the Constitution of the U.S.
When Republicans built a stone monument to the 10 Commandments and placed it in a courthouse, claiming it was "historic", they were knowingly breaking standing Supreme Court interpretation of the Constitution. They did this in hopes that a new court would overturn the old decisions. When the decision wasn't overturned, they took the monument on tour around the nation to show how liberal activist judges (or the conservatives they themselves had appointed) were attacking good Christian values.
Also, many states are already working on projects to ban abortion, knowingly and openly admitting to breaking the Court's interpretation of the Constitution in hopes of a new decision.
Is breaking the Court's interpretation deliberately in hopes of an opportunity to change the decision breaking their oath to uphold the Constitution?
Would it be if liberals allowed gay marriage against a court's decision?
