The difference between Al Gore and Obrador is that Al Gore didn't threaten to shut the country down when the Florida recount went against him.
Obrador's strident refusal to accept the possibitily that he didn't win looks more and more ridiculous as time goes on.
I also point out that this is nothing compared to what the PRI used to do routinely back in the 1960's, 70's, and 80's.

I, personally, believe that this is exactly like the election the US had in 2000. When the left lost that election they were going to everything in their power to "win" the election even when the law was against them. The left in the US has continued to grouse for 6 years about that election and the 2004 election when John Kerry was soundly beaten by George Bush.

Even when a consortium of 8 newspapers went back to Florida to "prove" that Al Gore won Florida in 2000 they found that only under one scenario could he have had a chance to win. Under the other 5 scenarios he lost the election.

I believe that this type of candidacy causes more damage to the electorate than it helps. This type of campaign also causes people to believe in lawlessness. The politicians don't have to ever give up when they lose so why do I ever have to give up in anything I do.

Hopefully politicians on both sides of the line will come to the realization that not everything is about them and their desires. If they really want the power to look after the little guy than show it by your actions and try to work from within and build your country rather than trying arouse a citizenry to revolution.

I am just glad that Mexico and the Mexican people voted for the right man.....electing that communist nutcase would have been very bad for Mexico and its people..... I think with who the Mexicans elected during the election will do great things for the people o Mexico if the Mexican congress doesn't screw things up like our congress does ....every good think that fox tried too do it got bogged down in its congress and not much got done....if this can be prevented this time I truly believe and hope that this new president in Mexico can and will do great things for Mexico and its people
