During the protest, and boycott by Latinos in this country, I noticed that most of the businesses who voluntarily shut down were in the service industry. The quality of service has gone down considerably over the last 15 years. It seems that most Americans are just passively allowing the quality of life to deteriorate. Political correctness, is not an excuse to allow the U.S to convert into a third world country. I am tired of being served by people who can not speak or read my language fluently, and it is frustrating to have to deal with uneducated and overworked employees, who are capable of many mistakes. Why are Americans supporting businesses who are capitalizing on cheap labor? Why are businesses accomodating spanish, which makes it easier for Latino immigrants to avoid assimilation? Do you think a large scale boycott of these businesses for an indefinite period of time would have any effect?

Can anyone help me by stating some of Anne Coulter's major viewpoints in a calm and logical fashion?

I read many commentaries on Yahoo Opinions, including Coulter's column, but I can never finish her column, because it seems to have been written by a very spoiled and nasty teenager..

Every time I read something she has written, I see that *maybe* she has viewpoints beneath all of that hysteria, but what, pray tell, are they? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, it's just that I have a hard time wanting to find anything redeemable in all that guck.

In fact, I'm "turned off" by her personality before her message even comes through. Surely, she has *something* decent and logical to say?? What is it? Tell me calmly, please.

If you think there is nothing redeeming about her opinions, please state why- also calmly please.

Thanks! ;>

If the Democrats win the White House in the 2008 Presidential Election,do you think there's a good chance that Jeb Bush will run in 2012? I think that's a very good possibility.

I live in the middle of a red state and there seems to be hardly anyone that will admit that they voted for Bush and if they do, they don't want to discuss it. Seems a lot of people owe the rest of America an apology.

Im sick of hearing democrats talk about the war in Iraq. The fact is we are in a war right now, and the only thing we should be talking about is how to support our troops and how to offer them better protection out there. War time should be a time where all Americans regardless of party join together in support of all troops and in support of the casue, freedom for a country who has never seen such a thing. Instead we have democrats who speak out against the war and the casue and it is just down right un Amreican to be in a middle of a war and not support our brave troops. I support it just because thousands of people, some of whom are my friends, family and co-workers are there fighting for the freedom of others and i feel the least i can do is give them my support. And yes i no how the democrats justify their behavior, they say they support the troops but not the casue. But you can't support the troops and not the casue they are bravely and nobily fighting for.

Ok, I may be wrong but as I understand it Cubans who land on American soil get to stay while those that are found at sea get sent back.

WHY?

I heard that Cuban refugees who are sent back get sent to prison which is why they get to stay once they land. Is this true? It begs to question, what about the ones sent back at sea. Don't they go to jail also? Why not just give them free amnesty at one time?

Also, does anyone see this as strange and slightly unfair to others seeking refuge from oppression?

Serious answers only PLEASE!!! I'm trying to learn something.

To make a long story short, I went through tolls for a week without realizing my account was depleted. The buzzer went off on the Southbound trip, but never went off on the Northbound trip. I had been told by the EZpass lady that if my account was empty the buzz would sound, my account would simply be billed & I would pay it. Unfortunately she was wrong. For each trip I was billed the toll, plus a $13 fee. I now owe $184 in fines. I appealed and asked for mercy since it was an innocent mistake. They denied it and are making me pay up. I've sent in the tolls I owed them, but not money for the fines. For less than 10 trips through the tunnel I have to pay $184?! Its not like I ran the tollbooth w/out a EZpass. Why isn't this handled in court like an MTA ticket. EZpass shouldn't be allowed to impose fines without any oversight. I want a judge to hear my case like you can do with a meter violation? How can they get around this, and do I have any options. Save your scoldings.
