The liberal wing of the Democratic party has taken over. There is no room for decent individuals like Joe Lieberman, Zell Miller,Sam Nunn, and others who at least gave some thought to the defense of our country. Instead they give us:
Dick Durban - comparing US soldiers to Nazis
"You would most certainly believe [the actions of GIs at Guantanamo] must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime -- Pol Pot or others -- that had no concern for human beings!"
Ted Kennedy:
All I have to say, is Chappaquidick
Rep. John Dingell:
'I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah'
(Hezbollah, who murdered 241 Marines in 1983)
John Kerry:
“I’m an internationalist, I’d like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations.”

There are many Democrats who believe the nation was mislead by the government before the war began. There are also Democrats who believe the war was justified, but that the administration has badly mismanaged it, and that has lead to many unnecessary deaths.
So for Democrats who oppose the war now, their way of supporting the troops is to call for the administration to bring them home so that no more of them die in Iraq. The soldiers that are fighting there are doing the job their president has asked them to do, and that is to be respected and admired. They didn't choose the cause. So objecting to the cause is not the same as objecting to the troops.
So I respectfully disagree with your statement "But you can't support the troops and not the casue they are bravely and nobley fighting for." My position is that we shouldn't remain silent when the government makes horrible mistakes. I believe our presence in Iraq is exacerbating the violence there, and that we should remove most of our troops very soon.
There are a lot of thoughtful people in both parties who disagree about the war. That's not disgraceful at all. That's democracy in action. Hopefully we can continue to listen and debate with each other rather than resort to the tactics we're seeing in Iraq right now.

After what the Republicans have been doing the past 6 years! Get a life, or a brain!
Nobody in Iraq is fighting for freedom!
I am fighting to get the troops out!
How can you justify 2, 825 KIA over the past 3 1/2 years, a president that cuts the Veterans budget, runs up 1/2 Trillion in debt that the large no-bid contract companies are getting filthy rich on, over an illegal war based on lies??
How can you possibly say YOU support the troops when they come home in body bags everyday from a place they should not even be in?????????????????????????

Why do you think people are so against this war? Because we are tired of seeing our troops die for OIL!! George Bush couldn't give a rats a$$ about the Iraqi people, he is an OIL man and there is OIL there!!
If he cares so much about freedom and democracy, why isn't he sending troops to other countries where the people aren't free? BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING IN IT FOR HIM!!
You can't tell me that those men and women wouldn't rather be here, at home with their families, as opposed to fighting this war that was based on LIES.
I hear people saying that Americans who are against the war bring down the morale of the troops. What a crock of bull!! The troops are too busy trying to survive, they don't have time to be preoccupied with what we think.
You are directing your anger in the wrong direction, you should be directing it towards the people who sent your friends and family to die for no other reason than GREED!!!
We do support the troops! We want them to LIVE!! You need to stop being a sheep, and get a clue!!

I am the wife of a 20 yrs Army man that almost died for this great country in VietNam.
I whole heartily support our military and I do not support this war.I am a liberal Democrat and I will do my very best to prevent another republican like Bush from ever becoming president again.Hes a disgrace to us and an embarrassment. And yes I can support the troops and not the war because I am not single minded and blindly supporting an un called for and un winnable war brought by Bush to ensure staying in office and lining the pockets of other republicans .Halliburton cheated the American people and the military out of billions in the name of Bush and Cheney's war. There is no glory in being a liar.

personaly republican are messing every thing up right now. Noble fighting they are doing but the wouldn`t be there if it wasn`t for the paranoid Republican party. I will admit that the democratic party isn`t doing well right know but in the last election I went for Kerry because he was the lesser of two evils. But there is a secret behind the war that belongs to a new world order that partially has to do with the U.N. it mainlly involves money. Also when the hell did a Liberal become a bad thing, republicans refer to it as if it is a dirty word if the very spawn of satan was a liberal.
I do have a question myself, are you a bible thumper?

This war is a bs deal, yes we all support the troops so please pull them out, first off if your going to use the excuse that saddam was bad then we have to attack the rest of the world and be the worlds police force because its screwed up in lots of places, and yes the democrats are not so good because of who they associate with, but at least they are more for the citizens and we know what the Bush's are for, war and crappy economy.

I've thought this for quite a while now. I'd be embarrassed to be a Democrat. To think that Teddy Kennedy would be my Idol and the John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, John Murtha, Howard Dean, Clinton, Clinton, Joe Biden were my representatives of my party, oh I shudder.

They are desperate so they play the "war card" You know, try to find something that will inflame the American public against Republicans.Tthe thing is, they don't get it. Americans may not like being at war, but we feel way more secure with a Republican in charge during wartime than we do a liberal.

Given what happened last night with Joe Lieberman and Cynthia McKinney, I think we could call the Democratic Party comic relief! Joe Lieberman was a respectable man who simply disagreed with his party on the war, too bad for him. Cynthia McKinney behaves like a gutter rat right to the end. (She was also ousted but not by the party). I would be absolutely ashamed to be a democrat right now, but am enjoying watching them fall apart. They are now run by Move On. org, Al Sharpten and let's not forget Jesse Jackson, I am sure there are others. They have sold their collective soul, now let's see what the get for it.
