"Liberal Media' is a fallacy. Check out who owns most of the media outlets from tv to newspapers and then call it 'liberal.'

It has been documented that over 80% of the people in the media vote Democrat. If you think that will not spill over into forming a bias, you are deluding yourselves. It may not be intentional, but with so many like-minded people thrust together, their one-sided beliefs cannot help but be reflected in their reporting.
This is the point of the Bernard Goldberg book, "Bias". Even though he is a liberal Democrat himself, he could not hide from the fact that it became evident even to him that the news was being biased.
You can tell the bias many ways. Do a count on the number of times "right-wing" and "left-wing" are said/written. Do a count on the number of times "extremist:" or "controversial" are used to describe these. That would be hideously one sided.
There have been listings that compared the percentage of favorable versus unfavorable news reports in the past 2 presidential elections. Do I need to tell you what the results were? Would you be shocked that Bush got more unfavorable reports while Gore and Kerry got more favorable reports?
Would I need to tell you that Kenneth Starr got like 80% unfavorable mentions during his time as independent counsel?
Shall we discuss the fact that the news spent a considerable amount of time rehashing the hoax and vicious lie that Bush was AWOL from the Nat'l Guard, yet if dismissed out of hand the allegations against Kerry made by the dozens of people who served with him? Why wasn't that a story? Why wasn't the fact that he received new separation papers and medal citations during the Carter Vietnam war amnesty a bigger deal? (I.e. it means that he received a DIShonorable discharge and had his medals revoked previously.)
And read some actual quotes in Media Research Center website, if you dare open your mind.

Exactly. I hate the way some organizations spin news to favor the current party in power. Sean Hannity the other day, said, something negative about the 'liberal elites'. Most of the republican party is elite. I work at a country club and all of the 'elites' are 'conservatives.
Fox news sucks

In Britain it doesnt really exist. Media owned by Rupert Murdoch (The Times, The Sun and doesn't he own BSkyB?) is considered conservative. We don't really have liberal media here because loads of our media is socially right and economically left. The only British media I'd consider liberal are the newspapers The Guardian and The Independent and BBC News. Many British newspapers have women with their **** out on page 3 (The Sun, The Daily Star) because they are trashy tabloid crap, yet are socially conservative.

Excellent question Jonny.
I'd like to here a neo-con name and identify all these liberal media sources they are always pointing out. One deluded idiot recently referred to Fox as balanced. Wow! I wonder what colour the sky is in such a world.
Like "Bring 'em on" who posted above: check out his profile. What a lulu! This is the mentality at work.

Generally, the term is used by conservatives to refer to any news outlet who is saying things they don't like.
It's part of the general partisan bickering and sectarian hatred that has engulfed this country in the past decade.
