democracy claims that it works on the basis that everyone can contribute and idea and that it will go on the best idea, on the contrary democracy is based on majority opinion, a singular voice has no voice in this country, democracy is a horrible system that does not allow for every voice to be accounted for

I saw an ad to "hire" someone for this...I wasn't aware that was legal. Or is it?

I am a visitor in the UK on a 6month toursit visa which is soon expiring. I recently had an accident and broke my hip bone. I was cosequenlty admited and treated at an NHS hospital after a 999 call. After the treatment I was told I had to pay the bill since I wasnt covered under NHS. I totally understand this but under my current circumstances (recent graduate and still unemployed) I am totally anable to afford it. I was told if i didnt pay, i would be reported to the Home office and I would be black listed and never allowed entry into the UK ever again.

I offered to pay the money in monthly installments that i could afford until its all covered but my offer was turned down since it was "too low".

I am certainly willing to pay but that was the only way I could afford it. So the only option for me is that i will be reported to home office and blacklisted....which i dont think is fair since i agreed to pay and am still hoping to come back to the UK. What would you suggest?
Cheers

Who is the British Foreign Secretary, no one could answer. Who is the Lord Mayor of London? No one could answer. If the US is a great nation, how come no one knows the answer to two simple questions.

.... have you ever opened your car door into another, had a shopping cart mishap, etc.... Do you tell? Do you leave? Does it depend on who's car it was (family, friend, neighbor, stranger???) Does it depend on if there was damage? No dent, no paint damage, no tell??? Depend on if someone saw?

OR do you tell no mater what?!?! Please respond if you've done it, or it has happened to you, NOT just what you'd do in theory.

Can Russia be accepted as ally (particularly in Iraq and around) on the basis of racial solidarity? Some former communists hope for it in fact. Yesterday the were red and supported all sorts of guerillas, in Vietnam, Korea, Angola and elsewhere. Now they stress their affiliation with European civilization.

I have been in the USAF for almost 11 years. I have to say my first 4 were great and I re-enlisted for 6 years. I have been involved in every conflict since Kosovo and up until about 4 years ago I loved it. Now, I despise it. The pace is unbelievable. By the way, I come from a long family line of CAREER Air Force and military and all of them say they wouldnt enlist now...no way in hell. Not because of the war...because of the insane rules and ridiculous amount of hours, training, and childish treatment. It gets worse every year. Awards are based more on how you look and the image you portray than the job you do, and the sad part is, the superiors are buying into it. My grandfather was an E-8 and he agrees it is ridiculous. Safety training, suicide prevention, base restrictions, 11 hour days, no beer purchased on base after midnight, off duty volunteer work, TDY's, uniform restrictions are at an all time high. I could go on and on. Any similiar thoughts?

After Vietnam, a lot of draft dodgers, drug addicts, burned out hippies, folks who were afraid to go, and losers in general started claiming military service to either explain away their mediocre lives or impress their buddies.

With the current all-volunteer military deploying and redeploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, and making news, how long will it be until we see the wannabees lying about being SEALS, snipers, Marines, and having "confirmed kills"?

Is it already happening? Just wondering.
