If I get out, and see no damage, I'm off like a prom dress. VROOMMMMMMMMM.

Either I will leave the location if there are no damages, as the car is on 'as it is, where it is basis' or If I am in a mood to pay damages, I will wait for the owner & will try my level best to make him believe that I really did damage your car, ask him to check with a magnifying glass. Request him that I want to take the guilt feeling away, so please accept this small token of $$$$ as compensation so that I have a good night sleep.
Please choose the way you like. Lol.

Why bother? No harm, no foul.
If you haven't hit anything hard enough to see any kind of dent or scratch, in all likelihood there is no damage.
One time my husband and I were in a Taco Bell drive-thru and the guy behind us accidentally rear-ended my van...basically just a tap, he'd been looking around for some CDs and his foot slipped off the brake. My husband and the guy looked at our cars, found no damage, and shrugged it off. Even if there had been a scratch on my rear bumper I wouldn't have whined about it.

I once accidentally backed into someone's car in a pizza parlour. There was no damage, regardless, I knew who owned the car, so I went inside and told him. He came out and checked it, was satisfied that there was no damage, and said it was fine.
He, of course, was more reasonable than some people. But yes, the law states that any collision must be reported to the owner, otherwise it's called a hit and run.

I sneakily get back in my car after checking for damage and speed away... usually right out of town. If there was damage, of course I would take care of my responsibilities.
ER, I mean...
That is what I would do If I actually ever DID something like that.

I've had that happen, where I have hit the car next to me with my door. I look to make sure there is no damage, then, if everything looks ok, I go on my way. Once it happened and the person was just coming to his car. I said "Opps, sorry" and he said, "no problem".

no damage, gone on my way.
but actually searched (and found) the driver of a car on whose fender i left a paint scrape. took me an hour to do so, this happened in a crowded summertime resort, and, to my relief, the driver shrugged and said, "No big deal. That'll come off when i wash and wax the car the next time."

Yes that has happened to most of us.......... if there was no damage to their car, don't bother saying anything.
I just had my car painted........ a car pulled into the parking space next to me and chipped the side of my car when he opened his door......... He gave me $20... but that wouldn't cover the damage.
If I wasn't in my car........... I never would have known who did it.

No, not if there was no damage. I've hit car doors when opening my door. I've never left a note.

If there is no dent and damage, there is no harm done. What is the point in telling?!
