Should terrorism go unpunished?

Beheadings, kidnappings, murders, torture, car bombings, school bus bombings, suicide bombers, worship of death, disregard for life, all for the sake of influence? (the definition of terrorism) I say NO!?

Terrorism must be punished. But what causes the terrorism to begin. Is it jealousy or hatred or a real offense. Most terrorism begins with hatred towards unfair treatment. When we learn to respect the rights and sovereignty of other nations, and let them solve their own problems, terrorism will cease. Of course we respond to things such as 9-11 but there is a lengthy history leading up to that attack...we brought it on ourselves through high-handedness and supporting the wrong regimes previously. The US has gained an international reputation as an aggressor, so we have confrontations in North Korea, Taiwan and likely Iran. Does it really matter if people of a country kill their own countrymen to you?....We didn't do anything about Pol Pot of Cambodia and he killed of about 1/3rd of the population of 16 million people....so Iraq has a civil war...should we care? Did we restrain ourselves from brutality in Vietnam...with Napalm, or Con Son Island, or B-52 strikes....I guess we must be only the good guys!

Before we condemn Terrorism, we should first know the meaning of it. Whatever you have specified in your question are indeed a few forms of Terrorism. But, the Terrorist activities carried out by Israel, the USA and its allied forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palistine, Lebanon, etc., should equally be condemned. How far is it justified to kill and ruin lives of innocent people in the name of freedom (in Iraq and Palistine) and target other weak and poor countries. Where are the Weapons of Mass Destruction? All those car bombings, etc case have been increased only after the US (or its allies) attacked and occupied those nations. Just feel the pain and agony of those people by keeping yourself in their place. How do u feel if ur loved ones are killed for no reason? How would you feel when your house is destroyed?

Just don;t believe in whatever you watch on news channels. Western media is losing its respect.

A common person like you and me cannot punish the culprits. But we can ensure that these people donot achieve power by casting our vote against them.

America has done kidnappings (being illegally detained is practically being kidnapped such as guantanamo), murder, torture, disregard for life. What has done to make up for those stuff is kill over 60000 people in a war in Iraq based on false facts, used nukes on japan. Israel has done everything in my list in addition to blowing up hospitals, schools, residential buildings, milk factories, my friends steel factory.... Yes everyone who does the stuff on your list should be punished so should the people on my list. No one is right bt the people who suffer are the civilians.

No terrorism should not go unpunished at all,but each situation has to be evalutated closely. Killing a terrorist in the wrong circumstances might make that person a martyr to his or her cause which will cause more bloodshed. if we can stop the money flow and weapon flow, have countries turn over terrorists or suspected terrorist to proper authorities and stopping terrorist training camps, we might have a chance. remember a terrorist dying for his cause adds strength to the followers.
