I don't smoke it anymore, but I say yes. They need to set an age restriction like on alcohol. It needs to be taxed. It will put a lot of dealers out of business, just like the end of Prohibition but the end to a lot of bootleggers. So yes.

Not yet. They have finally begun to do serious research on cannabinoids. Australia and New Zealand have taken the lead on this. They began their research simply by comparing medical and criminal records. From that point they developed the hypotheses and studies to determine the effects of cannabinoids on humans.

Apparently, for somewhere between 17 and 23 percent of the population, it is really quite harmful. I've seen the original research on several of the studies that identify which illnesses and disorders directly correlate to usage in a certain percentage of the population. It is far more harmful than is generally thought.

On the majority of people, it does not have the level of negative effects as it does on some, but individual esperience does not equate to hard scientific research or substantiate legalization or decriminalization..

This is why some European countries are recriminalizing cannabis.

There is an incredible amount of misinformation, disinformation and malinformation about cannabinoids, that needs to be addressed before any serious consideration of decriminalization. People are doing this research now, and it doesn't look like cannabis is a very good idea for humans.

I have no idea why this is such an emotional issue for so many people, but I expect a great deal of irrational dissent.

Personally, I am in favor of it for the production of fiber and oil, but not for any quack medicinal or Social Darwinist purposes.

I also find the question a little humorous, in light of the fact that legal restrictions are being applied to tobacco.

Whether it is legalized or not is not so important to me as is the punishment for possession and dealing. They are way to harsh and long all the while child molestors and rapists and other violent individuals have short sentences relative to the two different types of "crimes".

Could you really make a "white collar" enterprise out of marijuana? Would it be respectable to be a weed farmer or salesman?

I do believe legalization would take the criminals and guns out of the enterprise which would be on good point.

Yes they should. How, they should simply remove the drug scheduling system. It's costing the U.S. Money, life and liberty. It's giving us nothing but a full jail system and making it easier for our children to purchase drugs.

Yes and no. If they can actually prove that it can help medically in small doses, yes, under very tight prescriptions. But if that's not possible no, too risky.

I don't think it should be legal, but I think it should not be illegal either, using pot is a personal choice and a moral issue and I do not think the government should legislate morality.
