When I read the below article and the mention the Mexican diplomats, I called my congressman to ask why they were there. I was told that it was an open meeting and anyone could be there and they were not their by invite or to testify.

But what the HECK! This is the sort of thing that really upsets me. This would be illegal in Mexico....you can NOT as a citizen of a foreign country, try to influence Mexican policy.

I have been seeing sporadic stories about clashes (physical) between border security types and pro-illegal immigrant types. Each instance where I have been able to find a MAINSTREAM press account detailing how it started, it has been with the pro-illegals crossing police barricades, or striking out at the anti-illegal immigration people. Up to that time it is purely verbal on both sides.

The impact is to stop people who are NOT physically agressive against others from wanting to speak out in public.

Personally, I think the speaking out that matters will be in the voting booth, however, I would fight for the right of the pro-illegals to march and speak out peaceably as much as for the anti-illegals. Has anyone else noticed this? Have I missed MAINSTREAM accounts of similar actions on the other side?

the war in lebanon. Israel has killed MORE than 10 times as many civilians as Hizbollah (50ish Hizbollah and 600ish civilians). That is not collateral damage. It appears that Hizbollah are collateral damage in a war against Lebanon. Can someone PLEASE justify this war without saying "they were hiding Hizbollah" - there have never been Hizbollah in the Christian part of Lebanon (who support{ed} Israel and would have driven Hizbollah out), yet they were bombed.

Last time i checked israel isnt the one blowing themselves up in the name of ALLAH. Last time i checked they gave out flyers to warn people and those people ripped those papers to shreds.
Last time i checked Israel isnt the one who vowed to wipe Lebanon and Iran off the face of the earth. Last time i checked Hezbollah wanted to kill America. Last time i checked Hezbollah is the one who crossed into a land where they werent supposed to. Last time i checked Irans president wanted the war until Lebanon suffered lots of damage and now hes taking it back because hes starting to lose.

My husband is thinking of joining the army or reserves as an IT specialist. What kind of work do you do in that position at home or while at war? Just wondering as a wife how dangerous is it.
