Native Americans ARE NOT indigenous to the US. How many times do people have to state that? Native Americans migrated from ASIA.

Why can't people accept that fact?

By that same logic, none of us are native to anywhere but wherever the first people lived. "Native americans" were the first people here that we know of, I think. And the way in which those of us of european decsent obtained this country from them is horrible. But that's all in the past. F u c k it all, I say you're "native" to wherever you were born.

Yes, it's true that "way back when," they did migrate to North America from Asia.

HOWEVER, they lived here in North America for hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands of years before we white Europeans came here and started dissing and mistreating them! Think of it that way! They were certainly well-established "indiginous" peoples on this content by the time the Europeans came.

What I want to know is why did the white Europeans treat the Native Americans so poorly? I know in a few cases, they all got along, but mostly the natives were either dissed, threatened, raped, killed, and/or forced to convert to a religion they didn't want (i.e. Christianity) or suffer the consequences.

People need to accept THAT fact!!!

Ever heard of Kennewick man? They are saying that he is 30,000 years old. If you aren't Native after 30,000 years, you will never be. I think that a Native person like my husband maybe pissed you off and so you are sinking to this level to try to make Native American legacy look bad. That will never happen. Why can't you accept the fact that illegals have no rights here and should go the hell home? Have a nice day.

Where did u get your info from?
there are no solid facts about the native americans.
And if you think that is the only way people could have madi ti over to the americas, then your wrong.
Yes I agree about the barring straight, but what about the Book of Mormon then that talks about how they came across the ocean in ships?
I am not trying to start a religious battle here, but you have to be open to all options.
I say we are all the same race.
We all came from Adam and Eve. Color, language and lifestyles can't change that at all.

Because everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY wants to set themselves apart in some way. It is a button pushing issue. Native American, African American, Mexican American, Cuban American. Asian American, French American, Russian American, need I continue? WTF is wrong with AMERICAN? Why is it necessary to set ones self apart? I spent 22 years in the military including one in Viet Nam, I can assure you, every group bleeds red and dies like all the rest.

This country would improve vastly overnight if we would all recognize that we are Americans, band together as such and make things happen. Instead we seem to do everything possible to accentuate the differences and stymie every effort for the country to move ahead, instead of embracing the commonalities.

Most of the groups I have mentioned yell and scream in an effort to be treated the same as everyone else, while screaming just as loud insisting everyone recognize and exalt their differences. What they really want is all the benefits with none of the responsibilities.

We ALL migrated from somewhere else but I still consider myself American because I was born and raised here. If your ancestors have been in a country for hundreds if not thousands of years, would you not consider yourself a native? The word native is a geneology thing not genealogical.

I compltely agree with you, and did you hear about the new scientific evidence archeaoligists are finding? The archeaoligists are finding that their was a race before the Native Americans but it appears that the Native Americans wiped them out. I am part Native American and what's done is done, their is nothing we can or should do about it now.

Native Americans are MORE indigenous than other people. Its just a technical thing.

And the Indians thought we talked with false tongues.

Looks like some went to the top of the list. I think it is the supporters of illegals who took "Best in Show" for falsehoods. Give them the ribbon for most falsehoods on an issue.

There's always someone trying to make 10 bucks or pity points off their hyphenated-american status. If more people focused on their basic work ethic, and whined LESS, the country would, in my view, be a much better place...
