f the UN banned fishing of any kind for 2 yrs in Europe so the stocks could replenish, could you live without it? Considering that 90% of the worlds fish is dire straits from over fishing from fishing fleets and corportate trawlers, also the use of illegal netting do you not feel something has to be done before the oceans and seas become barren!

Take this quiz. (Be honest with yourself)

Do you think that people who find fault with current policy are unpatriotic or un-American?

Are you comfortable with the government doing favors for Corporations?

Do you resent intellectuals?

Does showbiz frequently offend you?

Do you think the government ought to do something about it?

Do you think that most of what's wrong is the fault of Liberals?

Should criticism of America be suppressed?

Do you sometimes feel "to hell with the rest of the world, only America matters"?

Do you ever feel that the rest of the world, even our allies, actually hate us and want to destroy us?

Do you think that no money spent on the military is ever a waste?

Do you think that the Democratic Party is evil, and we must have one-party rule?

The more times you answer "YES" to the above questions, the more strongly you're inclined toward Fascism. Do us a favor. Don't vote. Drop out of society and wait for Jesus. The whole world is evil, even the GOP

With all the millionaires and billionares in the World, why is the third world still poor???? im not racist but i think white people jus want 2 see good things happen for their own and let the others suffer. There is so much destruction in the third world but who is to blame white people i say! Im not saying its you but ur ancestors or great great great grandfather is to blame and it is a shame that todays goverment bush..blair and all the white presidents allow this unlawful behaviour 2 still happen. For example the diamond and gold trade is making so much money out of africa but if AFRICAN president was to demand a pay rise for the work force digging up the diamounds and golds (MAJORITY OF WHOM ARE CHILDREN) or if our AFRICAN president was to cut off access to diamond and gold mines, that african country would suffer and would be ignored by the developing world. You may think oh well they are not being fare they asking for 2 much? No it is the developing world that is taking 2 much!

It seems that we are the only one's who can be objective on political issues. The democrats and republicans root for their side like it's a football match. I read both sides and, frankly, I oppose Bush on many issues, but the truth is often obscure. Any thoughts?

Andy Rooney is the latest to ask this. I say it's because to vote for [or against] a woman for president, she has to run, and to run, she has to be nominated, and to be nominated she has to be endosed by one of the two parties, and they are controlled by men. So to have a woman as President, we have to have BOTH parties nominate a woman so that there will be no choice but a woman.

All I've been seing on my TV lately is commercials for Ned Lemont, but they're not for Lemont. They're simply against Lieberman. I have yet to see one singal ad that says what Ned Lemont would do if he was elected in the August 8th primary. And besides: Joe Lieberman, along with the attorney General Richard Blumenthal, is really the voice of CT. I've seen him on several news shows discusing various issues. So would Ned Lemont do the same in getting in front of the camera when he hasn't even done that for his campaign?

And besides, Lieberman has said that if he doesn't win the primary, he'll run as an independant for the Presidential race. Personally I'd think this would be a great idea since he could be himself and not face any pressure from a political party such as influencing his views even though he's already done that in part, but that can be a very good thing especially for someone like him.

Posting this under 'law and ethics' because I think it fits here:

In the Kevin Smith film "Chasing Amy" there's a scene in which one of the adult characters is at a public train station with a backpack filled with adult magazines, and at one point this character is seen showing pages from one of his adult magazines to a very young boy he's met. Now, if this had happened in real life, would this be considered an incident of child abuse?

I was talking about this film with a friend of mine who's familiar with social work issues, and mentioned this scene, and they thought it would be considered abuse, but I'd like to see what others think.
