There have always been terrorists.
They used to be called barbarians, brigands, bandits, pirates, or just plain criminals. The term terrorist is just more evocative now-adays because it causes an emotional reaction that those other terms no longer do.
The only real difference, if any, is the modern terrorists have access to better weaponry, because of the advances in technology. But terrorists, even if not in name, have been around since the dawn of civilization. All it takes is having the desire to cause pain and fear in other people because you don't like them.

We want peace and security.
They just want to blow themselves up to go to heaven and get virgins! LOL They think that if they blow up a building and kill themselves that they will get our attention, and we will give them what they want. It just makes us more head strong. We don't care if they kill themselves, and if they kill our people in the process it gives us a reason to go blow their a sses up.
