Many states are trying to come up with a Lethal Injection that is not cruel. Is this something we should even consider? Who among you feels as I do that "They should die the way their victims died"?

Women’s wages average just 75 cents to every dollar a man makes.

Both women and men deserve more, not less, leisure time--particularly today, when U.S. workers on average are working a month longer per year than they did 30 years ago.

Creating public catering establishments, nurseries, kindergartens are just a few basic steps which can really emancipate women, really lessen and abolish their inequality with men as regards their role in social production and public life.

Why are so many people afraid to ask for such meger improvements on our daily lives?

I understand that most Americans today are victims of the public education system, which refuses to teach kids to think of current situations in terms of historical perspective, but that's a poor excuse. You should always try to educate yourself, and that doesn't mean CNN, Fox News, or Air America.

Most people, but liberals in particular, try to pretend that this war is different, that's it's a unique situation that the U.S. is practically going it alone. As though every other war was everybody versus one bad guy.

To put it in perspective, when the U.S. entered WWII only England, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and Russia were on our side. That's it. The entire rest of Europe and large parts of Asia were already under the control of the Axis. Who were our allies in Vietnam and Korea, or the Revolutionary War?

Can people put this in the proper persepctive for once and leave current politics out of it?

this homeless guy asked me for money,

What do you want him to do with it, save it up and buy a wall unit?
Take a little run to the store for a throw rug and a cd rack? He's

"Why don't you go out and get a job, you bum?"

People always say that to homeless guys, get a job. Like it's always
that easy. This homeless guy was wearing his underwear outside his
pants. I'm guessing his resume ain't all up to date. I'm predicting

On 30 May of 2005, I was assaulted and battered by my spouse who is a senior officer in the military, I filed an injunction against him, but I had no support from the base legal systems, his commander, nor the local government agencies for the assault. In fact, my husband was advised by his commander to file for a divorce the day after the assault occured. This made things very difficult for me. The base housing was pressuring me to move out of the residence, with no money, no support, I ended up asking the judge to withdraw the injunction. I got back with the abusive husband and the emotional, verbal and economic abused continued. Can I retract and file charges against him now on the assault that occured the year before? Left the husband and now completely abandoned by the system and the military.

Research involving human stem cells...promises new treatments and possible cures for many debilitating diseases and injuries, including Parkinson's disease, diabetes, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, burns and spinal cord injuries. Isn't it ridiculous for people who have already decided that it is moral to kill babies in the name of war to show some squeamishness about destroying human embryos in a petri dish?

"The American people have determined that the good to be derived from capital punishment — in deterrence, and perhaps most of all in the meting out of condign justice for horrible crimes — outweighs the risk of error."

My questions are, what deterence is he talking about? Doesn't seem to me the death penalty is slowing down murder rates, and certainly doesn't stop homocidal maniacs from butchering people.

Why does Justice Scallia feel that "the risk of error" (in this case, innocent people put to death by the state) is acceptable?
