It angers me when people post questions about a seriously ill pet with symptoms that they have to know are serious. Why aren't they calling their vet's office instead of posting. A good vet will tell you if they need to be seen immediately or can wait. And what you should do in the mean time. I can see posting questions about a condition or something you have already seen the vet for and are just asking further information or for people who have had similar situations. But it angers me that there are so many ignorant pet owners many of whom probably don't even have a good relationship with a vet or even know basic information about dogs.Every pet owner should educate themselves about their pet including species, etc. That is basic common SENSE.

A few days ago, I bought a new pet rat. The man at the pet store told me that she was about 5 weeks old, but she looks younger to me. I had no trouble with her until yesterday and today; she spent the her first few days riding in my shirt. She seemed very calm, but maybe she was just shy in her new surroundings.
Last night she began to get more active. She spent a good part of the time I held her running around my neck. She also took food out of my hand for the first time, somthing I took to be a good sign. But she also started nibbling on my fingers. I dismissed it as normal rat behavior; I thought she was just feeling me out. But today, when I took her out to hold her, she spent some time on my shoulder, ate a piece of apple and became very interested in my fingers. She gave me a few light nips and then she bit me hard enough to draw blood.
I'm really worried. I have had rats bite me before, but never when I'm holding them. How can I combat the biting? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for taking time to answer my question....

Im babysitting a tarantula for a friend. Small Arizona Desert Tarantula, about four years old. She eats small crickets.

Im curious what it's body language means. Can anyone help me and tell me what it means when she stands up and her tail/butt go high into the air? She does this when I reach into the cage to clean a little. My friend said she is friendly and likes to crawl around on you - but this appears to be as a sign of aggression, and makes me a bit scared to put my hand into the cage.....

Anyone know what this means?
THANKS AGAIN!!

FINALLY!!! my husband has agreed to let me get my very first horse, I have been around horses 18 years of my life and train and ride horses for a living right now at Michele's farm, my husband has finally seen my hard work and craving to have my own and start my own buisness. Problem is that Michele my boss wants me to get a standardbred, because she feels they are the best horse to start out with, I ride and train three of them right now and I hate them!!! they range from 15-22 in the age rank and are just plain a PAIN in the rump. Pegasus the one I ride more has a knack to bolt before your in the saddle and just training them has made me feel bitter towards the breed, how do I tell Michele I want a different breed horse without hurting her inquire to help me?

Hi,

I have a one year old rabbit, she lives outside with my two guinea pigs normally. But im wondering if it is possible to house train her so that she can come inside for longer periods of time as she loves human company.

What are the best ways to do this with reducing the chances of her wetting herself everywhere.

Is she to old?

Let me know

Thanks!

How can we live without pets? My baby makes me laugh every day. The way he looks at me when he has done something wrong and I am scolding him is so funny. He just turns and walks away. He loves to tear napkins and can sniff them out. What is the funniest things your pet does to make you laugh?
