My favorite hamster died two days ago, and I am not taking it so well. I feel sad all the time, and hardly anything can cheer me up. My hamster (JD) was with me for 3 years, and even though that is a long time for a hamster to live, I still feel depressed. Any thoughts?

My son brought home a silk worm last week in a little glass jar with holes in it. Last night we did not see him, as we opened the jar we found the silk worm stuck to the top of the jar looking as if it was in a cocoon. We all scared didn't know what to do. Question, is the worm inside the cocoon and what do we do with it.

Thanks

When I looked at this place to rent I never saw them. The day after I moved in is when they started coming out of the walls. They are bad. I have tried boric acid, seven dust , roach traps, combat gel, bombs and ortho max defense spray and it seems all I am doing is feeding them. The more I do to get rid of them the more seem to be showing up. Help me please.

im getting two ferrets in a few months time and im planning on keeping them outside in a large, two storey, wooden rabbit hutch. would this be ok? bearing in mind that i live in the UK so its obviously not as hot as the USA climate (although it probably is today!) i will have a spare cage to bring them in during the day if the weather gets to hot, although my landlord won't allow them in the house all the time. Is there anyone who keeps there ferrets outside, in a large rabbit hutch, in the UK? any advice? tips?

in some countrys, they still do that, even though it's banned in some places. i love elephants and would hate them to suffer. they dress the elephants up in paint, clothing, and put rediculous toys in their trunks to carry during the show. i know theres not alot i can do about it. but i think eventually it will be banned everywhere.they aren't treated well; small cages, being forced to do human-like things, not eating the proper food, not in the right habitat! the circus owners take any exotic animal and keep it as a pet; sometimes ilegally! elephants have been chosen too, also chimpanzees parots..exct. so, who hates that whole idea?

We saw a raccoon in our backyard during a pool party yesterday, around noon. Aren't they nocturnal? After we all went inside, a friend suggested it was rabid. Should we call animal control?

I have M.E. so I'm not getting out much. I really miss having a pet. I don't have any friends who have any pets, and my parents don't want to commit to buying a pet as I'm not able to look after it very much - in terms of cleaning out or walking. I really want a little companion who will give me unconditional love. I can't talk alot, and on a recent visit to a local animal centre, i had the best time just sitting and feeding a rabbit daisies. sounds silly, but just wondering if theres such a thing as having a pet to come visit me for a few hours a week? I just find their company really therapeutic.

I am doing an experiment involving crickets to determine whether or not diet affects a cricket's chirping. I am planning on giving these corresponding combinations of cricket diet:
- High protein and high carbohydrate
- Low protein and low carbohydrate
- High protein and low carbohydrate
- High carbohydrate and low protein.

Would you know of foods that fall under those categories so that i could feed them to my crickets?

Also, would you be able to suggest a small cage/container that i could use to keep just one cricket? (i will be separating the male crickets in order to be able to differentiate their sound and so i will be needing at least 15 suitable cricket cages/containers)

Thank you for your help in advance!
