i got a possum that climbs in my trashcan which is right by my porch. there is no actual trash in it, because we use another can first with trash. but this possum is found sleeping in the empty can. is this a sick animal to b doing this? i though wildlife ran from people, this one doesnt. not even when we turned the can over he just kinda looked at us and slowly walked a way. i though possums slept from trees hanging by their tail. should i call somebody about this? who do i call if i think it has rabies?

The bird was in my garadge right below the nest. The mother was not taking care of it and it wont be old enough to fly. I picket it up in a paper towl and made a nest out of paper towls in a old cup and put it on my deck where my cats cant get to it. There is no way i can reach the nest and i dont know what to feed it. What should i do now? What and How should i feed it?

I have had mine for 5 years now.
I feel bad thinking this, but I thought it would have died by now.

I have heard of people calling things 'Bob' before, but would you actually consider calling a pet that or even a child?

I bought a rat today for my daughter, and given how easy they are to care for, would not object to getting a second one. I've read that brown rats actually need the companionship of another rat. Does this hold true for all species of domesticated rats (mine's not a braown rat)? Or will he do fine on his own?

I bought a rat today for my daughter, and right now, he's understandably a little stressed, what with being introduced into a new home. Thing is, though, when I go to pick him up, he squeaks. I had rats as a kid, and I don't remember whether or not this is normal behavior.

Also, how long does it generally take for a rat to become acclimated to a new home?

Any other advice, tips, pointers, thoughts, reflections, or ruminations that might be of benefit to a new rat owner would also be appreciated>
