6 months for breeds that weigh under 9 pounds mature weight, 8 months for those over 9 pounds. I am also a rabbit breeder, have been for 20 years, and 4 months is WAY too early. They're not finished growing yet!!

You will probably get pet people telling you to spay or neuter them, not breed them, etc. If you don't have an outlet for them, you shouldn't breed them, but spaying and neutering is a waste of your money and very stressful on the rabbit. There are no advantages to getting them fixed...female rabbits don't go into heat and can't be bred with cottontails if they escape their cage. Just keep them separate if you don't want them to mate. People mean well, but rabbits are not like cats and dogs and many of them are ignorant of rabbit biology.

Please do not breed rabbits... in case you do, do not promote to puppy shops, animal shelters, or human beings you do not understand ok. puppy shops manage animals extraordinarily... purely the day in the previous in the present day, a Petland worker drowned 2 rabbits because they were given right into a strive against, which does no longer have befell in the adventure that they were authentic worrying for them. Animal shelters euthanize pets after a particular era of time. you'll not favor to promote to human beings you do not understand because they could feed the rabbit to different pets, or maybe devour it themselves. Please dont breed, there are adequate homeless rabbits in this international.
