Prove to them that you can take care of a pet. Do all your chores for a month without having to be told then go to your parents and say I have been trying to prove to you I can be responsible, did it work? You will have to do it for a month tho honey just to prove you cantake care of something for a long time. Pets are a daily job for many years they are alot of work. They are alot of fun too but you have to feed him and water him and take him walks and clean up his poo and whatever else he requires it's kind of like being a parent having a pet, they rely on you for everything.

Begging is childish and won't convince many parents that you're ready for the responsibility for a pet so good call on trying to find alternatives.

In my experience, the best way is to prove that you're committed to caring for the animal and can handle the responsibilities. Sit down and discuss with your parents why you want this pet and why you think you are capable of caring for it. Go to the library and use the internet to do research on the animal that you want. Be sure to listen too. Ask them about their concerns and what they'd expect from you before they'd consider allowing you to have a pet.

Then take action! If you already have a pet in the home, be involved in its care on a regular basis. If you don't, offer to help out more around the home. Caring for younger siblings, doing chores (even better if you offer to do it for free), or looking after neighbor's pets when they are away on vacation are options. You can also volunteer with animals. Saving money to help pay for all or some of the pet's expenses can also help.

You may encourage your parents to reconsider your proposal if you act with patience and maturity. If this seems too hard or pointless, then you probably aren't ready to care for an animal yet. If you give it your best try and your parents absolutely won't relent, then you'll have to respect their decision and wait until you're out on your own.

Best of luck.

show how responsible you can be now, then ask for a pet. begging doesn't cut it. getting it first and thinking they said okay afterwards is wrong. the one who loses the most is the pet because most likely you'd have to take to animal control, and it would eventually be put to death.

If you can afford all the expenses for keeping a pet, and keep it in your room, that's half the battle. The other half is showing you realize a pet is a daily responsibility. No ifs, buts, or I just forgot.

it depends on ur age, habits, and what kind of animal would suit u best. when i was about 8 my parents brought home a puppy because they knew i wanted one but i never really begged i just behaved properly. then on my eleventh birthday, or before acutally, i asked my parents if i could get a hamster. they said only if i did good in school and did my chores w/out them having to ask. it took me a while to figure out i was into cats more than dogs and hamsters, so just recently my mom got this orange tabby on father's day for my dad of course but he became the family cat. so it took me thirteen years to figure out what i like. just explain to your parents what u want to try and work for it doing things u wouldn't normally do. in other words earn it.

yooung rabbits are pretty good you just need a place to play with them in because they are like dogs so you need to take them out every day for at least 4 hours. to potty train them you just put them in their cage for a few minutes and they go do their business in one spot over and over usually.they also need a bunny friend and they stick around each other almost all the time. the main point is that they are cute

Just go out and get a pet, and then show it to them and tell them that you'll take care of it, and since you already have it, what are they going to do.
