i got a possum that climbs in my trashcan which is right by my porch. there is no actual trash in it, because we use another can first with trash. but this possum is found sleeping in the empty can. is this a sick animal to b doing this? i though wildlife ran from people, this one doesnt. not even when we turned the can over he just kinda looked at us and slowly walked a way. i though possums slept from trees hanging by their tail. should i call somebody about this? who do i call if i think it has rabies?

If the opossum is bothering you call animal control. They'll be glad to take the opossum away from your house.

You should call the local humane society. They can come trap it for you. You shouldn't be tipping the can over with him in it, you dont know if it has rabies. Possums are nocturnal. If they look deranged and confused STAY AWAY. you should stay away from it anyway. Keep a lid on your can too. Make sure the humane society comes to check it out. If you have been bit you better go get looked at.

Dude, it's probably comfy in there. Name him Oscar (after the grouch), and let the little dude get some rest.

it is possibly suffering from poor self-image and considers a trash-can the only habitat of which it is worthy, consult a psychiatrist
