About six months ago, our bulldog started "stalking" my husband when he is getting ready for work. When my husband starts to put on his work clothes (tie, dress shirt, etc.), our bulldog starts following him around the house, circles him, with his head lowered in an aggressive manner. One day my husband reached down to try and pet him when he was doing this and our bulldog snapped at him. Our bulldog is almost 4 yrs old and neutered. He is sweet and gentle except for when my husband leaves for work. Any thoughts on what is causing this or how to stop it? I usuaally have to put our dog in another room until my husband leaves the house.

My work location moved a few months ago and there is a dog food plant about a mile away. It usually just smells like dog food when you walk outside but other days (depending on the wind) it is the worst immaginable smell possible. What could that smell be??? (I have an idea but am in denial.)

I belive they make food for Wal-Mart & Sams dog food.

OK...I have three cats....I've noticed that the "maintenance" of these three cats always ends up with the most gross horrible smells in the world. First, I have to empty 2 litterboxes daily, and let me tell you friends, that has to be the most disgusting chore on the face of the earth. Could anything be quite as toxic? I bought tons of surgical gloves and even a surgical mask for this unpleasant duty. Then...everytime I open some tins of Fancy Feast, some of the liquid drips right onto my hands!! Is it just me, or does that stuff reek? Anyway...why can't taking care of a cat be less gross? Also, am I the only one that HAS to smell something over and over when it makes me nauseous????

I found a starving kitten (about 3 weeks old) and now that he is healthy (he is about 10 weeks old) he has started nursing off my housedog. The kitten is separated while I'm at work in "his" room because I don't want him destroying my house. I let him out when I'm at home he will sometimes lay with my white shepherd and nurse. The dog has never had pups, and will even lift her leg for the kitten. I live on a farm, and the kitten will eventually be an outside cat, but with winter coming on he is too young to survive outside. Is there something I can do or put on the dog to stop this disturbing behaviour? The squirt gun isn't having much of an impact, except to get the dog bed wet!

I want to adopt a cat who does not go after the mouse as I hate the sight of parts of dead animals all over my house . Although I know most cats wont leave a small animal alone and that there are ways to curb the natural instinct, are there some breeds that tend to behave otherwise? Thanks. Prabha.

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there

The children were nestled all snug in their beds
With no thought of the dog filling their head

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap
Knew he was cold, but didn't care about that

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter

Away to the window I flew like a flash
Figuring the dog was free of his chain and into the trash

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But Santa Claus - with eyes full of tears

He un-chained the dog, once so lively and quick
Last year's Christmas present, now painfully thin and sick

More rapid than eagles he called the dog's name
And the dog ran to him, despite all his pain

"Now, DASHER! now, DANCER! now, PRANCER and VIXEN!
On, COMET! on CUPID! on, DONNER and BLITZEN!

To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Let's find this dog a home where he'll be loved by all."

I knew in an instant there would be no gifts this year
For Santa Claus had made one thing quite clear

The gift of a dog is not just for the season
We had gotten the pup for all the wrong reasons

In our haste to think of the kids a gift
There was one important thing that we missed

A dog should be family, and cared for the same
You don't give a gift, then put it on a chain

And I heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight
"You weren't given a gift! You were given a LIFE!"

My dog has tapeworm and I have 3 cats at home so I wouldn't really be able to tell who else has it. If I give them tapeworm medication (even if they don't necessarily have it) will they get sick from it? or would they be OK?

Well im 13, i have always loved horses, my parents
were awesome and let me take lessons at 11yrs old
every Friday. I was doing good at first, and was
really proud of myself, i even got my friend to
start riding with me. But one time, while we were
learning to sitting trot without stirrups, someone
did the one thing my instructer told us NOT to do,
(it was even on a sign on the door) They didn't knock
before entering the room and sliding the door open
spooked the horses, im told i kinda jumped off my horse
while it was bolting, but i don't really remember, i just
remember hitting the ground. Okay. so i was kinda scared after
that, they placed me with a new horse, named Kat. Kat
was a good horse so i agreed to try again. Next Friday
came along and it turns out that someone brought their
golden retriever along, the door wasn't closed properly,
the dog got in, barked at the horses, they all bolted.

If there was no time and very dangerous?

I brought some to my new house on my rats and I am afraid that my carpet may be infested with them. I know that fleas die after 6 months of not having anyone to jump on to feed, maybe thats wrong also.

I just want to know what wood lice are, if they live forever, and is my dog in danger from them because they killed my rats off very quickly.

Thanks for everyone's response in advance.

I have heard that sometimes people who are allergic to dogs can still own a breed such as a Scottie without too many problems. Are there any medium to large breeds that would also work?

Thanks!

I had a kid come to my house once a day for a week while I was on vacation and feed my fish. How much should I pay the kid?

She is 7 1/2 months old, and I think that shes in heat for the 3rd time. She starts meowing loudly and a LOT! She paces, rubs on everything, and rolls on the carpet. The 1st time seemed to last about 5 days, about 3 weeks later the 2nd time lasted about 10 days. Its been about 4 weeks and she has started and its lasted for 2 days so far.

I came on to ask another question, was researching, and I saw that somebody said that their cat tries to pee on things in heat. I noticed that my kitty does hunker in that same position just wherever, but I havent noticed her actually peeing. She also kind of crawls on her belly with her hind end in the air. While this is only mildly annoying (especially when done in my face or to my leg), I wonder if she has been peeing or having menses (like people). I did have a smelly situation after the last heat cycle, but I had some apples and potatoes go bad too. After cleaning the house , the smell was mild and gradually gone. Could it be her?
