We have a standing rule in our house. In case of fire, the following take priority:
1. Us
2. The dogs
3. The money & important papers
If we can grab 2 & 3 safely, we do it. But we do not risk our lives for 2 & 3.

Yes- I'd try and save any animal. If there really was no time, or I was very likely to die then I would have to leave them, but if there was any chance of me getting them I would.
I'd get my cats, my budgies and grab my snake. I couldn't live with myself if the fire crew took ages to arrive and I just left them all in there to die- they rely on me.

I dont have a wife lol or a husband for that matter lol.
But if there was a fire then yes i would try and resuce the puppies. Buts thats me, im soft and sensitive with animals.

I do animal care are at college and the one thing we have learnt is that YOUR life goes before ANY animals life. never risk you life to save the life on an animal. Never risk anyones life to save an animal either.
It sounds cruel but would you really risk your life?
I found it hard to learn this.

If time and safety allows than yes. But if it means risking your life, than it's better to stay out and hope the fire dept. can help.
