Well, Walmart's Ole Roy dog food is notoriously bad and unhealthy for pets, so it could have anything aweful in it. Most types of dog food are made with primarily animal byproducts, which are the parts of the animal left over from what is sold for human consumption.

It is made of grains of differet types just like our cereals and breads that we eat. My husband used to haul grain from our local elevator to the local dog food factory, they at the factory would test the grain for quality, and if the quality was not of the highest of standards, they would reject it and send him to the Quaker cereal factory where they would not even test the quality and just have him dump the grain to be made into cereal, which proves that Our dogs and cats eat better quality food than what we do ourselves.

I read and heard that some company's use meat, organ's from sluaghtered cows and horses. Have you ever looked at a bone marrow treat for dogs? You can actually find animal hair inside the treat.

I actually have to agree with Hunt.Hard's (Git'Em) answer here.
I lived next to a small dairy farm as well as a farm where they raised cattle for slaughter and on most days the smell wasn't terribly odoriferous, but some days, whew! It just stunk something fierce.

Depending on the brand, it could really be pretty much anything!.
Cheaper brands use a lot of filler and chemicals, whilst high quality brands use decent cuts of meat etc.

Bits of intestine, stomach, brain and other body parts of animal carcasses that us humans don't eat. Also the cuts of meat that aren't fit for human consumption (poor quality or rotting).
