She is fine if she is with me ..she never poops on the couch or the floor or in my bed..only in her crate!!! It is very frustrating...she is doing so well with house breaking but when I put her in her crate it is like she panics and then poops. I dunno if it is anxiety or what. She even does it if I am in the room with her. I dunno what to do.

I have a cat and a dog. One of them is defecating on my carpet every other day. The poop is always near the litter box, but my cat has never had issues about using the litterbox. And when I look in the litterbox, it is not that dirty.

Any ideas????

It wasn't pitbulls this time -- good news for pitbull owners, bad news for boxer owners -- how do you feel about this? Should the dogs have been put down? Should the owner of the dogs be jailed or fined?

SAN DIEGO -- A dog owner may be headed to jail after his animals viciously attacked a North County veterinarian who was out for a walk with her two young sons.

The attack left Nancy Matthews with more than 100 bite wounds over most of her body. According to Matthews, the attack took place while she was on a walk in Valley Center with her two young sons. She said the two boxers suddenly attacked her and mauled her for nearly 15 minutes.

"It went on for so long, I started losing blood and losing consciousness," Matthews told NBC San Diego. "At one point, I knew they were killing me."

Matthews said she was terrified the dogs would turn on her sons -- ages 9 and 11 -- and that she kept screaming for them to run away.

My daughter has a pet rat whose companion died of old age recently. She was really torn up about his death. I feel sorry for the lonely rat he left behind & know I need to add a buddy for him. I'm hesitating because I'd like to switch her to a pet with a longer life span, such as a ferret or a chinchilla. Can either of these live peacefully with a rat?

I bought a larger cage from someone who had posted an ad in the paper. They said in the ad that it was brand new, but it had a few toys (which I've thrown out for sanitation purposes) in it and they admitted to having a quaker in it for a while.

It is the white coated metal/wire with the hard plastic tray bottom. The best I can find as to how to properly clean this is to wash it with soapy water, then wipe on a diluted bleach solution ( 1/4 cup to 1 gal. or 1Tbsp to 1gal. -I've heard both).

What have you used in your experience or heard (from a credible source) is safest to use? My 'keet isn't going near this thing unless I'm satified that it is both clean and safe for him to chew on (because I know he will!!!).

Thanks!!!

ok, i am watching my gf's fleabag cat and apparently it hasn't been spayed and its that time of the month or something, so i call the vet for advice and they told me to use a "kitty pad" and to bring it in to get spayed whenever i can. Walmart didnt know what a kittypad was and so i got the smallest tampon i could find and tried to use it, but the damn cat keeps scratching me and wont let me put it in. What am i supposed to do? the cat is running everywhere and i have white carpet! HELP

Hi! My cat was microchipped yesterday and I was surprised to hear later that a friend's vet used anesthesia and shaved the area behind her cat's neck before putting in the microchip. Now, I'm worried that my vet did it the wrong way. (He literally stabbed my cat with the big needle without anesthetic.)

If you know anything about this, please advise me. Was my vet in the wrong? I love my cat dearly and it breaks my heart that someone might have hurt her unnecessarily.

Thank you very much in advance!

My kitten had tapeworm and we gave her worming medication. We found worm segments on our bed where she sometimes groomed herself and vacuumed them; the segments looked like sesame seeds or rice. Are these segments actually "alive"? Can the eggs hatch and infest the house? How to get rid of them if so? My kitten is now (hopefully) worm free but I keep worrying about the segments that I might have missed in my cleaning. I don't want them to infect me, my cat or to infest the house.

I am a huge Dog lover. My nieghbors never tie up their dog and it really bothers me that they don't care about their dog running away, or being hit by a car, or it biting someone and have to be put to sleep. On top of that it's always in my yard bothering my dog and biting her collars off. It's very aggresssive towards humans. Everytime I go to do something in my yard it comes up to me and growls at me. It scars the crap out of me and any company we have over. I've tried leaving them a note to tie up their dog but it only worked for about a month or so. I kind of feel bad for the dog because you can tell their lack of care for it. People keep telling me I should call animal control but I don't know what they would do...anyone know?

I just bought a 2 month old Shitzu. I read everything about crate training and thought that would be a good idea. The first time I put her in the crate she cried, yelled, started bitting the crate, she got very wild as I had never seen before.
I took her out because she was going to hurt herself and was too loud.
I tried 3 more times and the same thing happened. I read that for some dogs the crate training does not work. Do you think I should give up and try something else? She is doing good with the paper, but i would like to have her eliminating outside.
I don't know what to do. I need help!

Thanks

When they're mad they puff thier cheeks up and move their ears back and they move their tails a certain way. There are lots of other things they do that are different, for a lack of better words. Is this just strange, or do other people's cats do the same thing?

My cat hangs out in the bathroom ALL day. Before it was the kitchen. She gets excited when I come in there but doesn't leave unless it is too eat or do her business. Any ideas as to why she doesn't spend more time in the room I am in more often? I am the only person who lives here..
