My cat hangs out in the bathroom ALL day. Before it was the kitchen. She gets excited when I come in there but doesn't leave unless it is too eat or do her business. Any ideas as to why she doesn't spend more time in the room I am in more often? I am the only person who lives here..

Some cats just have preferences, like people. My cat used to sleep in the bathroom sink all summer because it was so cool, then in the winter he'd switch to under my comforter. My other cat used to sleep on the chair in the family room all day practically. I have never meet a cat that didn't have a favorite spot or room.

I was watching "my celebrity home" the other day and one of the poeple on it had a big bay window over their kitchen sink and they put a cat bed there and thats where their cat spends most of its time. Sun-bathing in a cat bed! Are there mice in the bathroom? Or maybe just some really warm sunlight!

She's probably like a lot of cats that are happy with their owners, but would just rather be alone. My cat is like that. My daughter's cat loves everybody and wants to play all of the time. My parent's cat prefers my dad over everybody else.

I don't see anything wrong with her having a "favorite" room. It's no different than having your own preferred room.

The day we brought my cat home from the humane society, we let her out in my bedroom, on my bed. Now it's her favorite place! It's like her "safe" room :)
