The chicken. The Bible says God created animals, not eggs. Besides, if He was gonna create everything to be babies, than Adam would have been an infant!

Most people would have to say the chicken, but even the chicken came from an egg, correct? The truth is what came first was the dinosaur. Dinosaurs are more related to modern birds than they are to any reptile. So to answer the question: the dinosaur that slowly evolved to lay the egg that contained the first chicken. Short answer... The egg.

The fish layed an egg that was a little more like a reptile than any other fish before it. This happened a couple of times, or millions, and before you know it, some lizard is laying an egg and something more like a bird than any lizard before it, hatches. Get the picture. For those creationists out there God made the chicken and then the chicken layed the egg, so that man could have breakfast and women could cook.

Chickens came first because they were created.
If the mutation was in the 'egg first', then it would have had to happen at least twice, once in a male mutation and once in a female mutation, otherwise you wouldn't have had a new 'chicken', only a half a chicken.
Not only would you have to had two mutation occuring at the same time, but close enough for the two mutations to find each other and mate.
And they say that believing in creation is blind faith.

The Chicken-
Remember the bird-like dinosaurs came before these birds. I believe some of these creatures or early mammals developed into a bird and then laid an egg.

egg. cross breeding / mutation between two species produced an egg first, then the chicken came out of the leg. can't have chicken first since they can't pop out of thin air. btw, this is a really old question.

Well, in the beginning God created an earth (paraphrase). In Genesis, it says that he created creatures great and small. Therefore, he created the chicken first.
For non-believers: A mother can live without a child, a child cannot live without a mother.

The chicken, without a hen to lay on the egg and keep it warm, the egg would die. Where did that chicken come from? Either God made it or it was created in a "Big Boom".
Thanks for playing

I've answered this question a thousand times.
It was the egg. Mutation takes place at an embryonic level.
