we use the dyson "animal" (the purple one) its made specially for pet hairs, it works really well

Another vote for the Dyson animal. Put a 2nd mortgage on the house, but it's super. With a chow and an australian shepherd spending more time on the couch than the humans do, it's invaluable.

Plus, just about every part of it is dis-assemble-able (go with me here), so if you do manage to clog it, it's a breeze to unclog.

The Dyson they make one that is especially designed to handle pet hair. It is the greatest thing ever. There are no bags, and it is easy to empty. We have had ours for well over 5 years and no problems, no repairs and the suction is still amazing. I even use it to vacuume my Lab every day, and he sheds like crazy.

a dyson. a friend of mine got one and showed me that she vaccumed her floor with her regular vaccum and it looked clean, then she used the dyson and it picked up so much hair. i swear that i do not work for dyson, it is true!

The Dyson DC-14 Animal. It is amazing!! I have 9 dogs a one cat and it never misses a strand of fur, ever!

A rainbow. The dirt, hair and other yuckies goes into a water canister. These machines are amazing. They are pretty pricey, but it will last you forever. You can get them quite a bit cheaper on ebay.
