We just got a new kitten and I don't know what to name him. My mom wants to name him "Honey", but for my dad and brothers and for me, it's just not clicking. He is mostly gray and has white paws, striped black here and there. And a little bit brown.
Got any ideas???

They have never been in a car before and there very skittish. 2 are 5yrs & 2 are 6yrs. One cat is kind of a bully.

Is this normal at this age, I thought by now, she would have lost all her baby teeth. Do you think the tooth will come out on its own? If not, does anyone know if the vet will put her to sleep to remove it?

i heard that the vet can go in and cut off the rough or dead edges around the wound and then sew the wound up for a fairly cosmetic finish. is this true? have i waited too long to take her in? I just didn't want to pay an emergency fee and wait all night. she seems fine--no bleeding. just 3 gaping holes around the tops of her legs and shoulder.

No matter how hard i try to get him to lose weight it just never seems to happen, He even looks like he is getting fatter. What can i do to get him to lose weight?

my dog doesn't swim unless we are swimming, and we dont swim in lakes THAT much. He does swim if its like shallow and it gets deep slowly. After winter is over and the ice is off the river he is scared to even put his paws in or get a drink! He is more freaked out at moving things like creek's or river's. We he does finally swim he LOVES it, he will just keep going forever! We have had him since he was about 3 months, could he have had a bad expirience or what is stopping him? he is great once he gets going. He is an Alaskan Husky. I would like to try taking him to a lake or something with another dog that does like swimming and get it to go and see what his reacton is.

I just noticed, about 20 mintues ago that my tiel is trying to make a bowel movement, but can't. He's trying over, and over again... but, nothing is happening for him. He's over 16 years old, and I've never seen this with him. Is there anything I can do for him? It's really breaking my heart (he's my baby...), and I feel there's nothing I can do for him...

I read on the internet to give him a warm bath, he won't settle down for one unless he wants it. So, that's not really an option.

I also want to know how long I should wait until I think about taking him to an avian vet, and if I should be worried... he seems fine otherwise... but, he just can't stop trying and pushing... I just changed the paper on the bottom of his cage, so I can check to see if anything is "happening".

Please.... anyone with any suggestions and experience let me know....

Thanks,
Susan

Very compasionate person with 4 cats and all share the litter box, all are siblings or babies of the mommy. I have a black tiger striped long hair and is very clean. She will not use the litter box after so many days. But she will poop in the bathtub and will hold it until I open the bathroom shower doors. What do I do? Does she have worms or leukemia? Help!

I have a 2.5 gallon tank (I'm in college). I had two rosy barbs, and one just died. I know keeping barbs in such a small tank was a bad idea, but they were so pretty and I thought I could handle it. Anyways, they don't seem to be working out. What kind of fish can I add with one rosy barb left? If this one dies, what kind of fish could I fit in such a small tank? I don't want a betta because my little sister has one and if I get one it would be the end of the world for her. She likes to be original or something...

I currently feed my dogs half Nature's Logic and half raw. ONLY half raw because raw is a bit pricey. The kibble I use has no synthesized vitamins/minerals added. It is all an all natural food. BUT I would like to go to a butcher and buy the family size package of meat to freeze and give to them with the kibble. I use Nature's Variety frozen raw but am not above trying Primal or someone else's. I just use the pre-made because it is sooo much easier than grinding/mixing myself.
O BTW they LOVE frozen turkey necks!!!

My dachshund is overweight, and everytime I take her to the vet, I have to hear how overweight dachshund are prone to back problems and I get depressed. I know I have to help her with her weight problem-but here's my dilemma. I want her to enjoy her food too, if she doesn't-she sneaks cat food. Right now I'm feeding her Nutro-Natural choice for Overweight dogs. She loves it. But she doesn't really seem to loose weight with it, but doesn't gain either. But when my vet had me put her on the low-cal Science Diet she actually gained weight because she would sneak any food she found anywhere, because she hated it. Help! I want my pooch to be happy and healthy.

Cheetahs are bigger and faster than small gazelles, but more often than not gazelles escape a pursuing cheetah by zigzagging. Exactly why does this put the cheetah at disadvantage?

Thanks to your answers, I realize that I have not been giving my cat the correct dosage of medication. I am half way through the series of medication and she had loose stools from it last night. I am not sure if I should give her another dose tonight (she had one this afternoon) so far everything has been fine. Do you think I should give her the 2nd dosage tonight or wait and start tommaro to see if she gets through the night with no diarriah.

I think that the gundog breeds are really beautiful and neat, and I'm thinking of getting one. I don't hunt and it would never be used for hunting, but I just generally like these dogs...spaniels, setters.... Does anyone own one? What kind? What are they like? Thanks for the info!

My little dachshund is laying all cuddled next to me on the couch in the cutest position. Like dogs in general, she gives that endearing love that only a dog can give.

I admit, that I post these dog questions every once in while because after seeing my dog be all cute and sweet I feel crave having people email me with their dog stories. Nothing like a good dog story to make the world seem like a peaceful place.
