This is for my friend she reasently got a palmeranian and she is seven months old she want to breed her on the first heat is that good because I heard that it is better for the dog if you wait for the second heat. What do you think?

My aviary just has dirt on the bottom & late today i noticed a mouse hole!!
What would be the best material to put in the bottom? Rocks? Cement etc.
Also, My bird ( galah ) never goes to the bottom of the cage, what is a good way to get her to do this?

For those who read my past question, I think it's obvious I should get a cat, or both... SO now the question is: What breed of cat should I get? It could also help if you could include an estimate cost of their expenses... Thanks a lot! :D

Having just read an answer from someone about not being able to walk their dogs in the dark because of Bears and coyotes etc it got me wondering , how do you cope with this type of wildlife? The scariest wildlife I have to deal with where I live are Adders and then only when it is hot (I don't take my dogs out when it is really hot, only early morning and late eve), and possibly the odd human lurking on the common, I can't imagine what it would be like to have to watch out for BEARS!! Do you get used to it and deal (like the adders thing) or are you terrified every time you go out of your house? Thanks

He is about 2 months old I think. I don't know for sure because he was a stray and I adopted him. Right when I got him I tried to feed him cat food but he wouldn't eat it. So then I tried some chicken and beef and he gobbled it right up. I know it's good to give cats meat, but maybe only on occasion. I'd rather him eat his cat food primarily. What do I do? I have been told to just wait it out -- that he'll eat the cat food when he's hungry enough. But it's been a day and he hasn't eaten it! How long do I wait?

This past saturday night I found some fleas on my little dog. I quickly gave him a flea bath that night and washed all of his beds, toys, my cloths, and my bedding (he sleeps in his crate, but was on my bed earlier in the day). The next day I got some flea powder for the carpet and did the entire house (even though he is only in about 2 rooms 99% of the time). On monday I took him to the vet and got frontline (the vet checked and couldn't see any more on him). I also bought some flea and tick killer for the yard which I am going to throw down tomorrow (tuesday). The dog has two beds that I have been alternating. Every night I take the one out he had for the day and wash it and give him the other one.

Just want to know how you would rate my war on these little guys so far and if you could add any ideas that might be helpful. I am open to home remedies. Oh yea, I also bought some organic flea spray (it has citris or lemon in it?) that I spray on his bed every day. Thanks for the help

Two of the fish are blood parrots and the other is a placostomus (sp?). My boyfriend gave them to me so I want to keep them but I'll be driving for about two days. Is there any way I can get them to my final destination alive or do I have to give them away?

I have a 5-year-old Rottweiler that has now been diagnosed with a ruptured Cruciate Ligament. I want to do what is best for her, but I have heard conflicting reports on how the dogs really fare after the surgery.
I understand Osteoarthritis is a given any time you invade a joint surgically. Is this really that much better than Meniscus pressure? Money is not an issue, I just want to do what's best for my dog and keep her comfortable.

I found my new little baby running down a country highway! We went door to door put up signs and an ad in the paper twice! No one clained him so we decided to keep him! We named him Bandit he is like the perfect little doggy! But is petrified of the bath! I HAVE TO bathe him if hes gonna live in the house with me! He's not just scared he is absolutely petrified! He howls and cries he tenses up and pee's everywhere! We've had him for about 2 months now and I think he may have had some tramatic experience with water or the bath! What can i do to show him that im not gonna hurt him in the bath! Any suggestions would be great!

Ok, so heres the deal. I bought a boxer from a lady in NC that claims she was a dog breeder. The puppy has demodex. As I understand it, it is a genetic mange recieved from the mother that weakens the immune system. The vet says it can take time and money to treat. He also says that the breeder more than likely knew about this problem and the whole littler probably suffers from it. So, I contacted the breeder ( i happened to save her e-mail address). She says she had no idea blah blah blah. Yet a few sentences down says she kept a pup from the litter that has the same problem. When I wrote back and said there is no way these 2 pups hundreds of miles away from each other just consenquently both end up with this unless it came from the mother, she says she wants no further contact and won't write back. Is there something I can do about this? No more pups should suffer like mine! Can I contact CKC? What should I do? Anything helps and correct me anywhere I'm wrong! Thanks in advance!!

I am trying to find out if there is some sort of artificial scent or spray that makes horses want to mate. I'm trying to make my horses mate, but im not sure if this is true.

as some of you commented. I love my dog very much and I think the pups which are called jackrats are cute. Mutt is such a harsh word for a dog that you have a lot of feelings for. Please try to be more selective on your answers.
