Well if you're quite an active person (would be able to walk a dog like twice a week) and love to throw things and would like the responsibility of training a dog, then you should highly consider a dog. If you prefer to have something to hug and stroke, that will sleep in your bed and don't really want the responsibility of having to walk a dog for an hour or so you should get a cat.
If your going to get a dog, then consider a boxer, golden retriever, or for a smaller dog consider a maltese.
If your going to get a cat consider a bermese, simese, persian(he will need to be brushed) or Rag Doll.

Good Luck with your new pet!!!

CAT definitely. I always thought I wanted a dog, then I got a cat, it changed my mind. and this view is even stronger now that I also have a dog. The cat is the cutest, the smartest, the cuddliest, the cleanest and the easiest pet to have.

Depends on your mind set.....are you laid back and like to have a companion to cuddle with or do you prefer the outdoor type that are active (and some are high strung). I would have to say if you chose the 1st answer....cat.....the other dog.....but hey i have the best of both worlds....so you can't go wrong with either!

Cat if you want low maintenance pet.
Dog if you are willing to walk it all the time and offer more maintenance.

I personally have a cat and wouldn't trade him for anything...

CATS if you are indifferent.

it depends on what kind of responsibility you want, dogs are obviously harder to take care of than cats... cats kind of take care of themselves. Depends on how much of a load you can take on!!!
