Her dog will stay much healthier, expecially as she gets to be old, if she is not bred until the 'heat' following her second birthday..Until the dog is two years old, she needs all of the nutrients to produce good bones and teeth for herself..If she gets pregnant, the puppies get the nutrients, and the mom dog will become mature without having the proper building blocks for good health..
She will have healthier puppies too..if she waits until she is adult..
She will also be more mature to care for them better..
It also gives the owner a chance to make sure that her dog is actually healthy, and doesn't have skin allergies, or metabolism problems, etc..that she can pass to the puppies.these don't normally show up until about 2 years old...

The best time to breed is when they are full grown, that is at least 2 years old, had all their genetic tests done and been proven to be of value or betterment of the breed, that is the parents are champions and you are showing and started at least on gaining a championship of the B and the dog/sire championed or at least well on his way to championship.
As the dog is a Pomeranian it will not be in field and trial so it has to be confirmation.
If she won't listen to the proven line side of things, at least tell her if she breeds a dog this young she is likely up for a CSection which can cost up to $1000 and she will stunt her dogs growth, it will not live as long as expected and the puppies will struggle to survive when born. She will make herself a heap of work, cost herself mega dollars and the poor dog will suffer physically.
But then if she wants to breed that early, she is probably the type that will not bother with the dog, leave it during whelping, take it to the vet at the last minute, lose all the puppies and possibly the dog to boot.
I dunno why I bother to answer these types of questions, the only end up annoying me. Irresponsible breeders, when will they ever learn.
Chetco, do you show your dogs?

NEVER.
Regardless of her breed and cuteness, she should not be breed. Every heat cycle she goes through increases her chances of cancer tremendously. If your friend would like another Pomeranian, why not contact local shelters and rescue groups?
Responsible breeders would NEVER breed a dog without homes lined up beforehand or without waiting until the dog is a couple years old so that she can be health tested (hips, heart, etc).
There are thousands of dogs dying everyday because people thought it would cute to breed their dogs or to make a few bucks.

Never is the best time. Seven months is way too young.
For your friend:
Why do you want to beed a dog?
Are you not aware that there are 15 dogs born for every one human? http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.cause&cgid=1&rgid=2&stid=10
Are you not aware that there are millions of dogs killed every year because of not enough homes? http://www.jour.unr.edu/outpost/voices/voi.valdyke.animal.html
Are you not aware that only 1 dog in 10 gets a permanent home? www.safehavenforcats.com/main.htm
Are you not aware that one female and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs in just six years? http://www.metroplexanimalcoalition.com/SpayNeuter/didyouknow.html
That coupled with the health benefits of spay/neuter WHY would you breed your dog? www.sniksnak.com/benefits.html

u should advice her to only let her dog breed when her dog is about 2 yers old because the dog might not be able to handle the stress of having babies when she is still 7 months..maybe when she is nearing 2 years old..

it is best to wait until at least the dogs 2nd season....you can only register pups with the kc etc when your girl is over 1 year old anyways. at her 1st season she will be way too young both mentally and phisically. it is way best to let her breed after at least the 2nd season at least...top breeders reccomend 2 years old. this is best for both mum and pups. also please make sure you can find homes for the offspring before breeding and think it through carefully!

Going into the third heat. They are in heat for 3 weeks ( i week they are coming in heat, than are in heat, than out of heat). The 11 Thur13 day is the best. Feed her vitamins and good food just before and than after till she has her baby's. She must weigh over 5 lbs, or you will be in danger of having a c section. Feed her well after the baby's are born so her milk is heavy. Good Luck they come in heat every 6 months or longer just depends . So the third heat is the best.

If the ***** is large and healthy and feed well. it can be OK. if you really wont to,but really it is usually not done. I raised Shepard's, when the droppings from her get a light pink that is when she will except the male. right about that time. don t just feed her dry foods. if you are going to mate her first time around. feed her Alpo. are some good foods..mix choped meats in to her dry foods. some. I give mine vitamins, sometimes.good luck.
