I was also thinking about putting a battery operated radio near the cage for her aswell. As i think she gets lonely during the day, Are birds annoyed by the sound of music?

I HAVE A COCKATOO..A FEATHER DUSTER IS GREAT..IT WILL PLUCK THE FEATHERS OFF THE DUSTER & YOUR BIRDS FEATHERS WILL EVENTUALLY GROW BACK. IT TOOK MY BIRD 6 MONTHS TO LET THEM GROW BACK. GOOD LUCK!

No birds are not annoyed by the sound of music i put on music on all the time my budgie and lovebirds enjoy it. It makes them sing louder. So are you telling me it has not got no toys at all in the aviary...... You should think of getting a mate for it and as you say toys try some thick robes with bells on you can get in pet shops. It may also be stress or a nutrient deficiency. Multi vit is a good supplement what i give to my birds. Its makes them get all the vitamins they need to say healthy and alert.

Birds do not require toys. They need companions. Try getting some other birds or the same birds and place them next to the cage. They will sing to one another.

She needs your attention first of all. Then she needs the "stones" for her beek, grain sticks, maybe a bath tub (careful, not big enough to drown), and a friend!!! Get another bird to keep her company. Just make sure they get along.

You usually want a rope with knots in it, birds like to tug on them (so of course have it tied to something), usually some kind of mirror.
If your bird is pulling out her feathers, chances are she is moulting which can be very painful, make sure she has moulting food as well as her normal food. Moulting food smells like black licorice, but it helps them out and they seem to like it.

ALSO......
most birds LOVE to hear music. soft music (ie. oldies, soft rock etc..)

: )
