Since yesterday, my Rat Terrier - Perdita (belongs to my little sister in legal claiming rights) - threw up twice and once this morning! I tried to get her away from eating leaves and junk, but she still winds up vomiting! I don't think it's car sickness either! What does she need? She is fed regularly, but there's got to be more than this!!!

I have game fish that I keep (yes legally you Nazi Geeks!) and I am wondering if there are various risks that even putting feeders in quarantine for a month will not solve. Anyone currently quarantining feeders? and if so how long do you keep them in quarantine for before feeding them to your main fish?

Keep those sugarless treats out of Fido's reach. Veterinarians warned on Friday that a commonly used sweetener might cause liver failure in dogs, and perhaps even kill them.

Their report in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association appears to strengthen the suspected link between the sugar substitute xylitol, thought to make dogs sick, and possible liver failure.

Xylitol, a naturally occurring product, is found in many sugar-free chewing gums, candies, baked goods and toothpastes.

Each dog became ill, and five died or had to be put down because of liver failure, possibly from ingesting xylitol.

Our old Lab passed away in July, I brought the other Lab in the house for a brief period of time (she is up in age also). I put her back outside (she has lived outside her whole life. Her and the Lab that died were inseperatable) All she does is lay around, she won't eat, I have changed her food, I have added other stuff in her food just to get her to eat.I don't want her to starve to death. She just sits and stares at the back door. I let her in about every other day to spend some time in the house with us, I have to drag her back outside. I spend time with her outside on the days I dont let her in, brushing her, pampering her, walking her. What can I do about a grieving dog? Has anyone gone through this? what was the outcome? I don't want to get another dog, It wouldn't work out. If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE HELP

I posted on here a couple of weeks ago about my Rottie, Keilah who had lymphnoma cancer. We started the chemo treatment and predizone. She was doing better, eating again and by last Thursday was acting like her old self. Tail wagging, active and just in good spirits. She had a chemo shot on Thursday night. Came home and seemed fine. Friday and Saturday would not eat anything. Became weak, layed around alot and died Saturday night. Could this have been from the chemo treatment? Can you OD on chemo? We miss her so much. She was the sweetest dog you could ever meet. But I know she is better off now. I should be working right now but I can't help thinking and crying about her.

I have been adopted by three cats over the years. I have never "kept" them nor fed them but they still come to me for affection.
Cats are notoriously stand-offish, what am I doing right?

I just got a puppy ( 9 weeks old) and it keeps peeing 2-3 drops on the floor. I don't have time cleaning it that he's already peeing again. What could be wrong with it ?

A dog adopted me last week and she is wonderful with people of all ages. I live in a small community with lots of dogs and kids. Maisy loves all people, but there are a couple of dogs she will eventually growl at (my friends') and there are two she goes wild with growling and lunging. But there are about a dozen dogs who she could care less about. She is my first dog and I want a dog I can be proud of. I really want to nip this problem in the bud.

We got a new 12 week old puppy Saturday. She has eaten 3 tiny treats and half a piece of bread. She drinks some. She has yellow watery diarrhea. She has not thrown up. She was taken to the vet and had a 102.6 temperature. The vet gave her antibiotics but had no clue. The puppy just lays there. Any guesses?

We recently moved to a new house about a month ago. I have a indoor cat that ihas started sneezing with in the past week and now I have caught her peeing in my bathroom sink and in my laundry baskets. There are other cats out side but she has had no contact with them . My cat is a female calaco that is spayed. We never had this problem with her before ,she has always been an angle and did nothing wrong.

with saying to the point of my cat is sick, what do I do? IF YOUR CAT IS SICK TAKE IT TO THE VET

cat's bringing dead things in, KEEP YOUR CAT INSIDE,SAFER FOR THE CAT AND THE WILDLIFE!

come on people! it isn't so hard to take care of a cat, feed it a couple of times a day make sure it has fresh water, scoop out the litter box daily, play with it, have toys for it to play with while you are gone. give it love and attention. if it is sick take it to the vet, don't complain that you don't have enough money to take the cat to the vet. most vets will do a payment plan if you are short of money when your cat gets sick.

What is so hard about that?

I have a 12 wk old daucshund / mini pincsher mix. She's been with us since the second week of august. We also have a 6 month old maine coon kitty. They get along quite well. Meisha (my dog) has a habit of sneaking into the kitty's room (they both have their each rooms) and getting into her litter box, only to eat her poop! I don't understand why she does this, and why she won't stop! We have dewormed her, she's had her first shots and everything, and she's totally healthy. I'm afraid her habit will get her sick one day.

Another thing that we've had a problem with is Meisha not going potty outside. We will take her outside, stand there with her for an hour...she won't do anything, then we will come back inside and she'll automatically go poop and pee on the floor. Why is she doing this? We can't keep her outside because our neighbor has 3 pit bulls that I know wouldn't hurt her purposely, but they wiegh a good 130 lbs/ea, and Meisha is only 3.7 lbs. What do I do? What can I do? HELP!

Apparently his rabbit died just before he went away so he buried it in his back garden, some sick pervert has dug it up and put it back in it's cage, his kids (2, 4 and 7) are distraught.

I own 2 neutered male cats and was thinking of adding a 3rd. My cats are 2 and 4 years old and would probably adjust to a kitten just fine.

I was thinking of getting another "rescued" kitten like my 2nd cat.

I saw my dog hammering the poor creatures lifeless body against a tree in my back garden, it was covered in soil but I freed it from my dogs jaws, washed it, blow dried it, patted down its hair (to hide the teeth marks) and then put it back in it's cage.

Did I do the right thing?
