I posted on here a couple of weeks ago about my Rottie, Keilah who had lymphnoma cancer. We started the chemo treatment and predizone. She was doing better, eating again and by last Thursday was acting like her old self. Tail wagging, active and just in good spirits. She had a chemo shot on Thursday night. Came home and seemed fine. Friday and Saturday would not eat anything. Became weak, layed around alot and died Saturday night. Could this have been from the chemo treatment? Can you OD on chemo? We miss her so much. She was the sweetest dog you could ever meet. But I know she is better off now. I should be working right now but I can't help thinking and crying about her.

I am sorry for your loss, I lost my molly girl last year (cocker spaniel). she had a stroke after battling thyroid disease. I had to have her euthanised. I know that chemo can make you very sick and weak, after all it is a highly poisonous cocktail. it affects different animals differently, just like people...sometimes older animals can not handle it well. This was not her first chemo treatment? You need to ask your vet if there was anything different in her last treatment. sometimes though even when they act like they are feeling better, they aren't, like my molly. it does happen. and of course you are grieving. you loved her. there is still not a day that goes by that I don't miss my molly. you know in your heart and mind that she is not suffering any longer but it doesn't lessen the pain and loss that you are feeling. hugs to you. please know that you did the best you could for her and that things will be ok. it will take time but it will be ok.

My condolences - pets worm their way into our affections and before we know it they are family members - not "just" dogs or cats as osunumber so callously opined.

It is possible the chemotherapy did for her in the end - it is a potent and potentially lethal, aggressive form of treatment. As with humans, different animals react differently to the chemo. There are some people who after a dose feel nauseous, others feel fine. Some gain more remission than others. It is not an exact science and the doctors and vets can only guess at the correct dosage in any particular case.

It is more likely though that the cancer beat the chemotherapy to the punch - as invariably happens, only the timescale is variable.

There is nothing to blame here. Simply remember the good times you had with your pet, and when the time is right, find another little Keilah to lavish your affection on.

OMG - my heart goes out to you! My "child" just finished the 3rd shot to cure him of heartworms. He was abandoned and I adopted him-he's a beautiful little cocker spaniel. He's not out of the woods yet - it'll take almost 6 months for him to "pass" all of the worms or till his body absorbs them. Why the previous owners didn't give him the heartworm prevention meds is beyond me! Caused this baby so much pain and discomfort. The Prednisone is making him a little pee-pot too! I haven't had him that long but I am totally and hopelessly in love with him and although his treatments were around $2000, the beautiful loving way he looks at me is all the repayment I need!

PLEASE get another pet as soon as possible! Trust me, it's the BEST thing to do in this situation!

Again, I am SO SORRY for your loss. It's never easy to lose a member of your family. Bless you for giving her all the love and care that you did!

osunumber, why did you have to be such a jerk? Go away from here!

so sorry about your baby...but i don't think it was the chemo. perhaps the lymphoma was too far advanced for the chemo to work. the prednisone will mask the symptoms for a while and make her better for a little bit, but it only puts of the inevitable. my prayers are with you.

some are and a few are not. one can't make a blanket fact approximately all women human beings of any race. elegance is thoroughly subjective and in the attention of the beholder. lots of the folk indexed under are being very stereotypical, even people who're being complimentary. All black women human beings don't have huge noses or thick lips or a similar texture of hair or sparkling epidermis or enormous butts or maybe darkish epidermis. just about all of black human beings are blended race despite in the event that they don't seem to be to you - it is the clarification why maximum black human beings do not look like Africans. i don't understand what women human beings people who've spoken on own hygiene are fantastic around yet possibly you may desire to locate a stronger style of human beings to pass alongside with.

I'm so sorry about your baby, maybe the cancer just got to bad before it was caught.. Just know that your doggy is running around in heaven happy and healthy..
Once a dog has entwined himself round your heart
he is not only yours for life, but you are his.
When he is gone, his place is forever sacred.
Other dogs are just as precious
but they all have their allotted spot in your
affections kept for them or their memory.
A heaven without one's dogs
would not be the heaven we hoped for.
A dog is always man's best friend..

A DOG FOR JESUS
I wish someone had given Jesus a dog
As loyal and loving as mine
To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.
As our Lord grew to manhood His faithful dog
Would have followed Him all through the day
While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
And knelt in the garden to pray.
It is sad to remember that Christ went away
To face death alone and apart
With no tender dog following close behind
To comfort its Master's Heart.
And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn
How happy He would have been
As His dog kissed His hands and barked its delight
For The One who died for all men.
Well, the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him mine
The old pal so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
Knowing they're in eternity.
Day after day, the whole day through
Wherever my road inclined
Four feet said, "I am coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.
