We got a new 12 week old puppy Saturday. She has eaten 3 tiny treats and half a piece of bread. She drinks some. She has yellow watery diarrhea. She has not thrown up. She was taken to the vet and had a 102.6 temperature. The vet gave her antibiotics but had no clue. The puppy just lays there. Any guesses?

Sounds like the lil puppie might have parvo. Which is a serious condition and is accompanied by fever. Here is a web-site to see for your self. You can ask the veterinarian yourself! Parvo is a serious condition and will cause the puppie to have a loss of appetite as well. You need to keep the puppy dehydrated as much as possible to keep body fluids in your puppie right now. If you are really worried and can't afford to take the puppy to the vet take a infant dropper off a medicine bottle and give your puppy fluids that way. Also give her 1 baby aspirin 3x a day 8a.m, 1-2p.m then about 8 p.m about every 6 hours. For 1-2 days Keep an eye on her real well she needs your help right now! Here is a website you can ask the vet! If she is not feeling better take her back the a different vet and get a second opinion!

You might have to put the aspirin down her throat and keep her mouth closed gently so she does not spit it out! Gentaly massage her throat while holding her mouth closed make sure the baby aspirin went down. Should help. Also feed her solid food not moist food. Something with a lot of flavor. Maybe,"Beneficial." The change in food might also be causing this problem! Good luck puppy!

What food are you feeding it? Nutrition plays a huge roll in the well being of any dog! Especially puppies, get her on a high quality meat based food such as nutro choice, they do various puppie foods.
To get her intrested in the food try warming it through slighlty in the microwave, this will release the fat and oil in the food and make it more appertising to her. other suggestions would be check the last time that she was wormed, if she seems abnormally bloated then there is a good chance she'll need deworming. Oh yeah and steer clear of bread it very high in salt and that will make here even more dehydrated!! plenty of fluids!!!

First the vet should have taken some blood and a urine sample and a stool sample. After running these tests they can determine what the problem is. The tests aren't cheap but you want a healthy dog Right? Puppys are known for having worms and digestive tract problems, but the right medicine will help. good luck
