I have three chihuahuas, all are kept indoors and all are females. They are 6 months, 1 year, and 13 years old. I've heard that chihuahuas kept indoors tend to shed year round rather than the twice yearly because they aren't exposed to the changes in weather that outside dogs experience. All of my chi's are short haired. They get a weekly bath. I've already heard the daily brushing idea, and also to buy a more expensive dog food. I've heard that rubbing a fabric softener sheet on their fur daily will pick up loose hair and dander, but I don't know if this really works. Any other ideas or suggestions??

Okay well the chances are very high that my dog may be pregnant, she has been in heat for 2 weeks and she "mated" with a male dog possibly more than 3 times, all "locked", Now my question is, what do I do to help it be a healthy pregnancy, When is the right time to switch her to puppy food, her surroundings, excersize, what not to give her... Any other advice along with those questions will be greatly appreciated!

my cat is pure evil.. she attacks anyone who attempts to pick her up.. (besides me)..she doesn't even like if i pick her up.. she hisses and tries to scratch anyone who touches her.. she bites her own tail untill she screams.. (not all the time but sometimes)..
she got outside and my neighbours found her.. (they are friends of ours) she wouldn't let one of their sons out of his room.. when dan tried to stop her from scratching the window screen she hissed and came at him to attack him .. he had to fend himself off with a lunch bag..

i'm not sure what to do.. anytime i try and spend time with her she just ends up angry

Sophie was my first dog and she died fairly suddenly, two days before her 5th birthday. My family had a new puppy picked out a week after Sophie died and I resent it very much. I am so hurt that my family was so quick to replace Sophie. I don't know how to deal with all the grief and anger that I have over this! Thanks for your help.

I live in a rural area and am not near a vet. I do not own a gun. My rabbit is very sick and is in alot of pain. It is time for me to put her down. What would be the most humane way to do this?

My cats are 3 and 8 years old, about 17 pounds each (huge). I have a 3 month old Lab who wants to play with them so bad, but they hiss and smack him. I put caps on their claws so they don't hurt him. They are okay being in the same room together, but I would like them to be able to play together. How can I help the kitties understand that puppy is not a threat?

I'm doing a illustrated speech on Barbaro's injury. Could some one please help me understand (in details) what steps of recovery Barbaro went through and how he is now?? I also want to know how long the surgery took for his 27 screws and the 15 inch plate took? Different magazines and websites say different amounts of hours. Anyways, any information about Barbaro and his injury (how he broke it, about the pool of water, the bones he broke) would be awesomeeee. THANKS!

Our Macaw was ignored in her previous home, and when we got her she was terrified of toys...especially any that made noise. We have had her a couple of years and she is starting to exhibit the destructive behavior that is normal for parrots. We are excited about this, and want to encourage it but toys still scare her. Looking for DIY toys to make so we are not spending fortunes on toys she wont touch. Any ideas?

I just got back from the WI State 4-H Hunter/Jumper & Dressage show yesterday. I didn't do any dressage tests but saw a few of them and thought they were really neat, espeacially the musical Kur. Does anyone have info on rules like the ammount of time, etc? I found a website with songs (equimusic.com) but it really isn't too helpful. I do know how to put songs together for different gates if need be. Any knowledge/info/song suggestions would be great. My Horse is currently at training level (as he is a hunter/jumper) but I have been told he has awesome movement & talent to go far in dressage. Thanks.

well, you see that there was this huge huge gigantic madam cockroach in our girl's locker room 2 days ago. It was sooooo big that the grs and I stopped dressing to watch it, then we noticed about hundreds of moving little transparent cocky babies coming out of the end of the big one....we were all freaked out, and all the girls had evaperated....now to think about it, we should have killed the cockroachese and stop it from giving birth...but itis kind of cruel... what would you do?(now no one dares to dress in that room ever again)
