Make sure you get a Kitten food... it's growing and needs certain nutrients. It will need to stay on the Kitten food until it is 8 months to a Year old. If it is going to be indoor only try and indoor formula, if it is going out try a better formula lik Science Diet or Iams, I like Nature's Recipe. Can food is okay in moderation, like 1 can per day in divided feedings. Whatever brand you want... they do have kitten can food.

IAMS Kitten Formula (comes in cans)

Slowly ween them onto harder food (preffered IAMS) buy sprinkling bits of hard food into the wet food as time goes on.

(a complete diet of wet food is not healthy and may result in diarrhea)

I have always fed my cats Iams dry food. It makes their poo's nice and small and non smelly. Just make sure its kitten formula whatever you choose. I have always found that wet food for both cats and dogs gives them looser more smelly bowel movements.

I use Science Diet, but Hills is a good brand, and a lot of Purina cat foods are good as well. Just don't get generic.
