Okay well the chances are very high that my dog may be pregnant, she has been in heat for 2 weeks and she "mated" with a male dog possibly more than 3 times, all "locked", Now my question is, what do I do to help it be a healthy pregnancy, When is the right time to switch her to puppy food, her surroundings, excersize, what not to give her... Any other advice along with those questions will be greatly appreciated!

Watch and see if she's developing teats. If so, and they're starting to drop, start feeding her puppy chow immediately. Let her choose the amount of excersize that she wants, but make sure that she stays fit and healthy, with long regular walks. This increases blood flow to the puppies as well as carrying added nutrients to them. At about 6 weeks, take her to the vet, so that she can be checked. Start training her to go to where you'll want her to deliver. A cheap plastic swimming pool, lined with old towels and sheets works great.

I don't feed mine puppy food, but I do feed a high quality food (no corn, not to many grains) that has 26% protein and 20% fat. I also add a bit of yogurt, an egg/beef mixture, or cottage cheese to her evening meal.

I would make sure she is in very good shape (hopefully she already is being you are breeding her) with daily walks. Bitches that are in top shape tend to have less problems whelping.

There are many good books about breeding and whelping, I would get one.

If you do not have a whelping box, make one, it is easy.

Good for you for thinking ahead and being concerned about a healthy pregnancy, that kind of thinking seems to be lacking around here.

i have a male dog....BUT i do know that it's not good for a female dog to get pregnant more than twice. It's too much work after they start getting older and it can put her and her puppies lives in danger. well...mostly her puppies
