Is it setting a bad example to let Paris Hilton get house arrest? I say it is, and it is unfair. Wow, house arrest. She can stay at home for nearly a solid month and do everything from swim, watch tv on the flat screen, etc. and not leave. How many other criminals or people sentenced to jail get that? NONE. Good lord. Any opinions?

We're all familiar with the top stories of Hilton, Lohan, Gibson, and countless others. Are there unwritten exceptions for these 'notables' for DUI. I'm betting Paris Hilton's medical excuse tops any that we used to get out of gym.

........to see the bigger picture in major tragedies or events like this?

And also that the human psyche will always try and look for someone to blame or point the finger at in order to rationalise events?

In the absence of a true perpetrator to crucify (the abductor), they need to vilify and point the finger at someone else otherwise the event just seems meaningless and random and the human ego, which loathes disorder and chaos, cannot bear this?

Is this therefore a sign of insecurities that are present in a vast majority of people? The inability to accept the chaotic order of the universe and the constant need for a rational explanation.

This will also explain why there is little venom towards the perpertrator - they are an unknown entity.

Can you believe this?? Are you serious?? Wow..so this is how it works, claim a medical condition or make yourself sick & they'll feel sorry enough to release you to an ankle bracelet to serve out your time in the lap of luxury, her home. I knew this was gonna happen...thats why I posted a question yesterday asking if she was still in jail...boy im good!

Will this ruse now apply to anyone convicted of an offence - just tell the authorities you don't feel very well and want to go home?

It is very sad to read and see in the news that the pretty 18 year old girl who was shopping at a Target in Kansas, got killed. Apparently she had shopped for a present for her boyfriend, and as she was loading up her trunk, a man ran up to her, shoved her in the car, and drove off. Hours later her body was found across the state line in a park. How do you feel about this? Could this have been prevented? Will you go to a store parking lot alone now?

all along. Sentence the celebrity to 45 days, cut it to 28 and then release her after only 3 days, or did something happen in jail to put her in danger?

Details please, does anyone know, I just saw a news brief that she was released only moments ago.

Is it an inert part of human nature or has society moulded us in this way?

Is it just the way the mind works?

Or is it something deeper?

Do you think humans have always been hypocritical?

During the carefully regulated nation wide polling done during the debate, Ron Paul clearly dominated the polls in all positive categories (with the exception of Best Dressed) and CNN refuses to even talk about him in the after debate commentary. They pretend he doesn't even exist.

CNN showed its true colors...Corporation Owned Talking Heads.

But I want to hear all your comments...do you think CCN is totally bias or is Ron Paul really invisible and only we see him during debates?

All opinions welcome..just try and be honest.

There's been plenty of time to think.

He was wanted for illegal arms possession etc.
He was serial child rapist.
He was serial wife (of others) rapist.
He was serial child (beater) abuser
4 Policemen were murdered in the line of duty on his orders
15 Policemen were wounded in the line of duty on his orders.
He held 80 people hostage, including many women&children.

So regardless of the fact that the ATF erred in arresting him (because he was heavily armed which they knew, and willing to kill police if they tried to arrest him which they didn't know), what DO YOU THINK they should have done after the initial raid stalled and turned into (on his part) a hostage kidnapping situation, and he refused to surrender?

I understand that you Christians Americans elected Koresh's man Bush to be President, and McVeigh a GOP anti-government Christian blew up the Moreau Building as revenge for the Koresh tragedy...but what do you think should have been done about the crisis and criminal at the time

At the risk of receiving a lot of angry responses and dozens of 'I'm bored of this' comments... I'll ask this one question...

The McCann parents left their children alone in a holiday apartment while they ate at a restaurant 50 yards away in what they considered to be an idillic, family resort and that was safe.
My garden at home is 120yards long. If I go out into the garden when they are sleeping - am I guilty of neglect?
As I said before in one of my previous posts - the McCanns didn't sit Madeline on the pavement with a notice around her saying 'please take me' - they had the children in bed, close by, in what was considered a safe area.
I do not condone leaving children alone at all - but what I am saying is, put it into perspective. The guilty person our hate should be aimed at is the sicko who took advantage of the situation and snatched Madeline in the first place.
Why be venegeful of two parents who have lost their child simply because they are not emotional wrecks?

2007-06-06 04:56:28 · 36 answers · asked by Anonymous

they were asked if they had anything to do with little maddys abduction. why is this the only time these 2 have ever showed any emotion?. its a shame they dont put that much passion and feeling into finding their little girl. dont you think its strange that they have never showed the same emotion when appealing to find their daughter ,that they left unattended and unprotected? it was only a matter of time before somebody started to ask these kind of questions. that little girl is suffering through their neglect,so why havent these questions been put to them before now?
