There's been plenty of time to think.

He was wanted for illegal arms possession etc.
He was serial child rapist.
He was serial wife (of others) rapist.
He was serial child (beater) abuser
4 Policemen were murdered in the line of duty on his orders
15 Policemen were wounded in the line of duty on his orders.
He held 80 people hostage, including many women&children.

So regardless of the fact that the ATF erred in arresting him (because he was heavily armed which they knew, and willing to kill police if they tried to arrest him which they didn't know), what DO YOU THINK they should have done after the initial raid stalled and turned into (on his part) a hostage kidnapping situation, and he refused to surrender?

I understand that you Christians Americans elected Koresh's man Bush to be President, and McVeigh a GOP anti-government Christian blew up the Moreau Building as revenge for the Koresh tragedy...but what do you think should have been done about the crisis and criminal at the time

Tough question. Seeing as how Koresh surrounded himself with Innocents to use as human shields, I think the only thing we could've done different- was COMPLETELY seal off the compound (no water, no electricity, no info. going in or out), allow no one in & no one back in , -and then just waited them out for as long as it took. THAT way, even if they all eventually starved to death- he wouldn't have taken any additional lives the way he did in the end...- & maybe wouldn't have attained the degree martyrdom stattus he gainned in the end.

It depends on which government. His only Federal offense was tax evasion - hardly a cause to libel a whole group of people, assault their church, use poison gas, helicopter machine gun attacks, etc. He invited them in to search and when the attack was imminent, called the FBI undercover agent to his office and told him he should leave now because it was too dangerous for him.

Oh, yeah: the jury found that the Dravideans were acting in self defense - the Nazis were acting in the line of duty too, you know and the Nurenburg tribunals established that "just following orders" is not a defense.

Texas already investigated the gun charges (a state crime) and found that their buying guns and modifying them to make them look cool without changing how they worked perfectly legal so gave them back all the guns that they willingly turned over to them. Texas was investigating the child abuse and child sex charges and were working up a good case when the BATF decided that they needed a national sensation if they were to get the funding they wanted in a tight budget.

I think the real question is: when is Janet Reno and her accomplices going to be brought to justice? Korish was a nut case but the Dravidians were a long-established fundamentalist Christian religion based on the teachings of Miller (like Jehovah Witnesses and 7th-Day Adventists and were at one time part of the Adventist religion. They certainly did not deserve to be cut away with a sledge hammer to get to someone who jogged in the open during the whole siege. And people condemn President Bush for going to war based on contradictory intelligence! Reno is a mass murderer who admitted her guilt publicly. What a world this has become!

I think they did exactly the right thing. Only maybe they should have gone in sooner. His group shot and killed ATF officers. And he was having sex with young girls and abusing them. Negotiating was worth the effort but was becoming obvious that it would never work. Koresh wanted it to end that way and I think he had it all set up. It turned out badly....but no one could have known that beforehand.
